Hey Guys,
So as many of you E46 330i fanatics will know, the lucky guys in the US and UK got a competition package towards the end of the 330i's life. As far as I can tell, amongst other changes, it mostly consisted of upgraded suspension, cams, and software.
I see these upgrades are available as kits from Tischer in the US:
BMW Performance Engine Kit
To boost power to an even more intense level, where your heart is racing as fast as your tachometer, the logical place to start is at the source of that power, the BMW engine.
Increases engine performance to 235 hp
Boosts torque by 8 ft lb
Raises redline to 6,800 rpm (from 6,500 in the regular 330i)
Quicker acceleration out of corners, easier hil climbs and more aggressive power delivery
$440.00
BMW Performance Differential
This price includes a Core Charge of $100.00
Power. It's the elemental fore generated by a car. And how it is transmitted to the road makes all the difference. When you choose a BMW Performance Differential, that power is not only increased, but delivered smoothly and efficiently. The result is a heightened responsiveness, and a more exciting drive no matter where you are headed.
Boosts power transformation from 2.93 to 3.07
5% increase in axle ratio increases the torque delivered to the ground for faster, more immediate acceleration
Accelerates up to 60 mph approximately half a second faster than the standard 330i
$1300.00
BMW Performance Exhaust
An engine that exhales easier is an engine that will run smoother, rev higher, accelerate faster, and deliver more horsepower - but that's not all. As the RPMs escalate, so does the exhaust note, creating a racy but never intrusive sound. Now drivers can not only feel the enhanced performance, but hear it with every shift and acceleration.
Improves exhaust flow and subsequently engine performance by reducing back presure
Manufactured using cutting edge CAD and FEA technology to ensure optimum fitting accuracy and OEM quality
Manufactured from highest-quality stainless steel ensuring durability and corrosion resistance
Designed for E46 M54 cars (330i, 325i)
$550.00
BMW Performance Front Control Arm Kit (ZHP control arms)
A BMW Performance control arm gives a BMW an almost instinctual feel for the road, providing as aggressive a ride as possible.
More ridgid, stiffer bushings integrated in an aluminum control arm
Better all-round performance
Tighter performance when changing direction quickly
Stiffer bushings considerably reduce roll and increase responsiveness and agility
Athletic handling, faster turn-ins and an immediate, more intense reaction to the road
$450.00
BMW Performance Air Intake System
A breath of fresh air is enough to invigorate any engine. And upgrading to a BMW Performance air intake will unleash gains not only in horespower and torque, but add fuel economy, reduced pressure drop and overall performance.
Increases engine performance by reducing pressure drop and improving air flow
Additional inline scoop and special element radically changes the internal air path and reduces system losses by 24%
Three air inlets in total allow air to flow efficiently
Designed for E46 M54 (330i, 325i) cars
All parts manufactured from highest-quality, injection molded plastic to ensure OEM quality, durability and heat resistance
Carbon fiber insert with silver "BMW Performance" wordmark adds a stylish touch to the engine compartment
Designed to work with standard engine calibration and does not influence emissions
$315.00
Now, I know not all of the above is part of teh ZHP pack, but it seems to me that you can get pretty close if you were to import a few parts. So my question is this, has anyone considered these? I believe Sankeur (spelling) has fitted the performance air intake? My guess is that most rather opt for cheaper local alternatives for things like cams and software.
Any comments/insights would be most useful.
