Hi everyone,

I might be buying an e90 330d 2006 model with about 80k on the clock for roughly 170k.

Car looks neat and mileage is great. Are there any issues I need to know about this generation of e90's? Its obviously the 1st batch of e90 that came out.

Please comment. thanks all

Awesome choice in car.

Known issues are Vibration Dampner and injectors , be sure to have a professional have a look at it. Its a costly exercise to replace if no warranty

check the consumption on the vehicle, if it is high could be a sign of issues like injectors.

The car itself is strong, provided good maintenance was performed. Check the service history, comments from BMW and if you have somebody who is BMW minded take them along as well.

Thanks guys!

When you say check consumption to determine injector issues.....what kind of economy do these cars provide?

Vibration damper is unknown to me with the 330d .... well known with the 120d and 320d.
Injectors I would categorize under normal maintenance same glow plugs

330d , 530d , X5

All the same problems.

These above mentioned cars come into BMW workshop all the time.

Manual or auto? If auto then you don't have to worry.

If Manual then you might be surprised by a funny feeling clutch. Have the CDV removed and bled and your clutch will last and the car will drive way better.

What type of mileage has the car done? Lots of short start stop drives? With a lot of heat cycles the secondary thermostat housing might crack. It's really a quick and easy fix. Costs around R700 from goldwagen for the OEM part. Yes OEM.

Door locking mechanisms go from time to time.

Nothing to really put you off of the car.

Enjoy it
