Brake fluid flush, vacuum out the old stuff.
Old fluid looks rather dirty, seen much worse though, probably the most neglected fluid in a vehicle from my experience.
New brake fluid in.
Vacuum all the old fluid out the calipers and lines.
Top up the reservoir afterwards.
Adjust the handbrake the correct way.
Looking for reasons for the airbag light, pulled both seats out to inspect the wiring and seat belt pre-tensioners. Found someone had a go at it before me.
I cut off that maroon plug as I found the pins were damaged, I soldered a new plug onto the wiring and that cured the driver's side pre-tensioner fault. Passenger side I could only find the seat occupancy was disconnected, plugged that back in and that fault went away. Couldn't find the passenger side pre-tensioner issue though, it had connectivity but the fault still persists.
Driver's airbag fault was still coming up so I wanted to check for connectivity, it was connected. Hmm...still the original airbag from 1999. Will get this sorted at a later date.
To finish off the work, gave the engine bay a clean.
Gave the car a wash.
...And ready for collection.
I asked my good friend Bradley with the red touring to follow me to Elton's house so I could drop off the car and give her one last ride, the handling is absolutely perfect! The car sits on the road like its running on rails! I thought the powerflex bushes would make the car feel hard and unforgiving but that is most certainly not the case as those brilliant Bilstein shocks soak up all the harsh bumps in the road and the two go hand-in-hand like bread and butter! That final drive only made my lust for this car so much more, I got to drive my dream car and it has exceeded my expectations in every way! I must give a big shout out to Elton for giving me the opportunity to work on and drive my dream car, you sir are my HERO!!!:blowheart:
