Let me know if you getting rid of any of the stock stuff of your car.
Will do bro, once the build is done I'll see what I end up with and let you know. Heads up, I've already promised my stock snails to a buddy of mine.

Leon hasn't decided on the housing sizes yet, he only got the flanges for the new manifold on Friday night. Once the manifold is in we can test fit everything and see how much space there is to work with.
Leon has done this before, but I believe this is his first 1 series, so everything is a little more constricted.
The turbo is going to be a hybrid spec but somewhere close to a GT40, and good for 700WHP.

Interesting build, forgive my ignorance but has there been a solution for the clutch delay on the manual 135i?

Yup. BMS CDV helps a little. But with that kind of power you can't just drop the clutch.

Thanks KrS :coolShake:

Good afternoon gents

Sorry for the pause in the updates. I've been away for few weeks but back now and the build is coming along nicely.

Leon has revised the exhaust manifold a few times now to get the fitment just right. He test fitted a previous branch but there were some clearance issues so he decided to get it modified. The final revision is basically finished and will probably be fitted in the next day or two.

Boost pipes are complete and should return from ceramic coating any day now.

In the mean time Leon has been playing with oil cooler fitment, which is also basically done.

What remains and the plan forward is as follows:

Once the manifold is back we can fit everything, once that is done we can see how much space we have to work with for the new radiator. Then the radiator will get sent out for the new one to get fabricated.

Then the manifold will come out again and go for ceramic coating. When it comes back the car will go for the exhaust.

Once the pipes are done all that remains will be final tuning and testing!!!

If all goes well, I'm hoping to get the car back next week some time.

I bet you cant wait.

I honestly can't haha!!! But I've forced myself not to rush anything and give Leon all the time he needs. After all, you cant rush perfection.

And I have to say hats off to Leon and FR&R the work these guys are doing is really top notch.

Good news

Even though the manifold was giving us a bit of trouble Leon got finally got it to work. He is fitting the revised manifold to another forum members ride (Krs) first and then he's going to finish up mine.

The car will also go for the exhaust sometime next week, so if all things go well... maybe next weekend will be my time!!

The excitement is driving me mad :hammerhead:

(PS. I am not posting any pics of the manifold for the sake of protecting intellectual property, I can say however that it looks awesome!!)

Is it a top mount tubular manifold or a bottom mount log type manifold?

I can only imagine the excitement..

Neither...

I don't want to divulge too much, but I can say that its bottom mount not log type though.

This is going to be epic. The new manifolds really helps spool up and is quite different from the original. It also makes heat shielding easier. But the thing I'm most impressed with is the Sound!!! I can't wait to hear what it sounds like when we both put our foots down on the highway
