I'm not the biggest fan of the 6 but its like a wart it grows on you. However this I like not allot but I'll give it time to grow on me.

Well I wouldn't say it is the first 4-door coupe BMW has ever made, what about the 4-door e30, it has no room in the back just like a coupe yet it has four doors.....

I must say it does look really slick, the other colours like white, grey and black will show it's true elegance. raise:

Why would BMW make this car share so much design similarity with the 6 and market it as 6 Series Gran Coupe. Merc and Audi position the CLS and A7 as separate models, in that way ensure their customers have an exclusive and individual car, especially if you consider people buying at this end of the market or looking at these types of vehicles, want something that stands out from the crowd, when you consider the price you going to pay for this car. This sharing alot with the 6ser. doesnt help in the exclusivity stakes at all.

I think they missed a trick here.

Well, thats one of looking at it.. However.. remember Merc and audi dont share the same looks with LOWER end models (i.e the e-class and a6).. BMW is Sharing looks with Higher End models (i.e the 6 series). So people will ultimately be buying into a higher end sector of BMW, hence why I think the shared looks will positively benefit this model.

Those rear seats looks very comfortable...then again, the front seat have the steering wheel

I think BMW are spot on, some people don't want a droopy saggy assed A7 or CLS or even hunchback Panamera and this will suit them just nicely. My dad told me "I don't like THIS", pointing at the "Sportback" or sloping back of the CLS and A7 and feels the 6's roofline is resolved much better. Apart from people who love this stylish design, I'm sure other more conservative buyers will head to the 6GC instead of the others too. Yay, extra sales
