That looks pretty good dude I won't lie.

I'm particularly impressed with that clear coat! It turned out very well!

I think if you do change colours again perhaps give anthracite a go? Personally I think it goes very well with a silver car.

Shot man. Yeah, I like the anthracite too. And especially a CSL type look. That's the next plan. Bitcoin allowing...

So, after having the bulbs lying around since last year, I finally got round to putting them in.

Link to eBay: here

Before (with stock OEM bulb from the factory)...

After (with the new 6000K bulb - looks a little brighter and whiter - but it's probably just wishful thinking)...

Left is stock, right is new... not too easy to see, but definitely a whiter light. I like it... (should have backed the vehicle up or taken a pic at night, oh well...)

And then these puppies also arrived! Looking forward to getting some time to fit these! Hopefully this year! Lol...

Super easy Mo!
1. Remove the cover in the wheel well
2. Move the large steel clamp and then remove the back cover over the light unit
3. Rotate the ballast anti-clockwise to remove and pull out (and disconnect wire)
4. Squeeze clamp and remove the D2S bulb
5. Put in the new bulb and reverse the above steps

The only tricky-ish part is replacing the back cover on the light unit... as it's a tight squeeze, but it's not too bad.

Probably all in all easier that the Ba9S bulb you did... as at least you can see what you are doing! Lol...

So... busy checking and getting some prices for some items I am planning for towards the end of the year...

Windscreen.... hmmm...

This was the response from one supplier... just FYI....

*******

Two options available are :

The brand Shatterprufe R 5553.35 price includes fitting and VAT

This brand was at one stage considered OE standard and will always be a quality windscreen.

The Alternate brand (FUYAO) R 3018.75 price includes fitting and VAT

This brand has become the OE brand fitted to all new BMW’s now sold.

********

I will budget for the Shatterprufe option...

:fencelook::eek:mgwaiting:

Oh... and another quote just came in... from another supplier...

R2800 fitted with VAT. But no details on make.

Another quick update...

All the travels have made DIY time few and far between... but anyway...

The boot gas struts arrived and I finally got a chance to quickly install them...

What a difference it makes to not have a loose and floppy lid! (No comments please)...

:smilebounce:

These struts I happen to come across on Wish... so thought what the hell... and for R300 or so, so far so good... will see how long they last!

Before replacement - old stuffed strut still in place...

After replacement... nice and firm!

And a gratuitous front shot whilst getting a cleaning...

Will get some new rubber soon...

Looking to go with the following:

245/35R19 up front and 275/30R19 at the rear (I am actually also considering 275/35R19 at the rear for a bit more comfort).

Probably going to Falken FK453, seeing as I have been loving these on the Z at the moment...
