xzorst on the n55 anyone?

hi there Guys

has anyone tried any aftermarket full xzorst from the dp to the back on the n55 135i ?

i did mine on monday... i kind think its not working well. brin from prima force did it. the setup is 2 x 76mm from the dp into a single 85mm pipe then back box and out into 85mm single pipe and into a y pipe that allows for two tail pieces.

i noticed its really laggy if you know what i mean and around 5-7k it gets going nicely... im going to do some logs tonight to see if its loosing boost or where actually the boost is now coming on but most likely im going to go back to stock..

if you guys have any exp in xzorst please let me know.

Hey bud
I have the bmw performance exhaust, but i opted to install the Y pipe that replaces the mid box, so similar set up to yours actually. So from the cat i have two pipes that go into one pipe (y-pipe), that goes into the back box.

I also have DCT and I noticed that the throttle response was worse after installing the exhaust, I suspect due to less back pressure the DCT box is and was confused, but it seems to be improving. I noticed better low down torque, mid range might have lost a little but a little more on top end. All in all not too much difference, how many km's have you done so far? Is yours throttle lag or turbo lag? I think the car may need more time to adapt.

Can the engine and gearbox adaptions be manually reset using your procede tune forcing the car to relearn the new mods?

hi brandon... its sort of adapting but logs show that im down on boost by a constent 3.5 psi .. and it sort of has turbo lag.. throttle response is there as the logs show its 100% the entire rpm.

it has about 50km at max done on the new zorst.. friday im going to go back to stock and re log.

hi kish, yip i did try to reset but i guess im just abit anxious but i shall just wait until friday, if by friday the logs dont seem to improve il go back to stock.thanx for the input bro..much appreciated

hi there... sorry bro i wont be selling but i will surely keep an eye out for the n55 mid pipes for u. il check with other xzorts dealers aswell for u.:thumbs::thumbs:

I don't think I am down on boost more of a throttle lag, but it seems to have gone now and the car feeling normal again. Do you possibly have a leak in the exhaust somewhere? My set up has very slight drone but as the carbon/soot builds up its gets less and less.

As for the kinks, I am not sure, might be for sound, then again am I still learning with regards to how the exhaust boxes and pipes affect the sound of an exhaust.

yes it worries me but if bmw is known for living up to thier claims so im sure there is a logical explaination for it.

i put on my stock exhaust and its much better now. logged it and im back up on psi so we know this system is a no no.. a rather costly investigation...

wow, thats interesting, you must be onto something about the kinks or design.

ay theres so much of info on the n54 but when it comes to n55 dct everyone is freaken hush hush...

im gona try the ets intercooler now. im still awaiting my new meth pump from procede so with the intercooler im hoping to better my 1/4times. btw theres now semi slicks in the country for me ..so im really thinking twice about the drags..

Do it. Buy the semis and join us at matubaba.
