Ok just bought myself a set on ebay as well.

Will let you know how it turns out, I like to buy direct from Hong Kong as the stuff gets here incredibly fast from there via courrier 2-3 days to my door

I am also interested in the outcome of this as i recently fitted my 2003 E39 diesel with xenons i bougth from Autostyle for about R600. Had to modify some old H7 bulb holders i had lying around to make the xenons fit in the lens. Am not very happy with the result as the beam is not much (if any) better than the Osrams with claimed 50% more light that was in there. Also, yesterday driving in the rain one of the dimms suddenly showed an error on the dash and when i switched them off and later checked to see what is wrong everything was fine again with no error showing. Am seriously thinking that there must be something wrong somewhere with either my lenses or the globes. 6000k xenons by the way.

like i said earlier the adapters are not just to hold the bulb they will also hold them at the right level so they focus properly... if you get the adapters it should improve things a lot :)

Are there kit options for H4 type headlights

you do get H4 kits. It seem they dont need adapters but I could be wrong.

Why all this fiddling with adaptors? Just get the proper xenon equivalent that you halogen projector takes and it should work fine. Or just do it properly to begin with and retrofit a proper xenon (or bi-xenon) projector into your current headlights for the best results.

My kit turned out awesome, I even managed to code out the low beam error in the LCM.

Now I'm trying to find a set of park light bulbs to match, I did find these funny looking blue bulbs that are the correct color (Shine bluish white 6000K) but they are a bit dim, so going for LED's
