The E39 facelift came standard with angel eyes/projector headlights but with halogen bulbs. The xenon was optional extra. I dont have xenon.

do you know if the lenses are the same? you might find the lenses have a different focal length so it wont focus right if they the same then go for it :)

i would rather pay 200 more and get the PHILIPS if the fong ones were half the price i would maybe think of it...

whattingh i think you will need the adapters because the focal length will be very different between bulbs... i hope you dont have to buy then at the stealers for R1000000

So I went and bought 35W PHILIPS Patent Xenon HID conversion Kit (H7) with slim CANBUS ballast for vehicle and now i see the bidorbuy links. It is the same people and I paid R835 and they have on listed for R750. bastards. ah well one will always see some thing cheaper after you buy it but never before you buy it. I have plugged all in just to see that it works. It does not give errors.

Now need to get adapters off ebay. Sent message to few to check on quicker shipping.

The adapters on ebay looks the same with same description and then range from $6.50 to $18. I think I will go for $6.50. It is a piece of plastic. The $6.50 is $3 for econo shipping and $35 for EMS express. I think I will wait a save me some bucks

dealextreme don't do EMS express to SA, just so you know. I am not sure if EMS works in SA, but they had to refund my money because they could not ship via EMS. Possibly things have changed since then, though.

Those "Philips" HID kits..... mmmm

I got taken by buying a "Bosch" HID kit on fleabay. I'm asking because the connectors are same as the Chinese ones, so is the wiring, the bulb packaging, even the pictures are the same as the Chinese ones. I am not sure Philips would use cheap stickers on their ballasts either, and finally the price... genuine Philips for R878 - yeah right.

First do what I did an email Philips and ask if they are genuine.

Despite this, the Chinese HID kits are actually quite good, and there are very few reported failures. I researched they have three very large factories that make these and seem quite proud of their products for a change.

All I'm saying is make sure you don't pay twice the price for a simple sticker.
