Windscreen vents

Hey guys

So over the weekend I left my pen in the groove on the dashboard. Today, i took a corner, completely forgetting about the pen, which aptly bounced to the right and disappeared. I assume it went into the air vents right by the windscreen, because I cannot see any visible pen. Any ideas as to what to do?
Do I need to see the dealer so they can fish it out, or does it not pose a threat?

lol well how the pen managed to get into the damn vent is beyond me.

It's a E93 M3

i dont think many on here have dismantled an e93 dash im guessing the best bet will be the dealer...

Think they willl use a snake cam or dismantle the dash?
Back to the pen, is this gonna be a problem?

you can probably get it out if you take a few panels from under the dash and the blower out... but having never done it im not sure how big the job is...

if the pen ends up against the blower if could cause some damage to the blower and make an annoying noise...

Can you hear it rattling around? If it has lodged itself somewhere that it seems to stay then you could let it be, but it would always bother me personally. Then again, does one strip the dashboard for this?! What does pose a potential problem is if the pen begins to leak ink from heat, might cause a mess and strong odours, also collect dust build-up.

I would ask the agents what they recommend. What about a car sound place, they might know all the tricks to getting into the dashboard that can help fish this out...

It hasn"t made a sound since this morning, so it seems to have lodged itself somewhere. Problem is that I also am bugged by having a pen there.

Hmmm have not given that any thought, might be a good idea to check it out.

Definately not keeping a pen in my car ever again :argh:

they normally run along the bottom of the dash and the propshaft tunnel...

I had a look and I have a flimsy plastic covering underneath the pedals, couldt feel any vents or anything. Will ask the dealer it seems.

I have lost two pens in the dash of a Mitsubishi Pajero... :fencelook:

That would iratate me to know its there and i wouldnt sleep, but if they are going to take you dash apart i say leave it, we had our dash removed for some aircon thing in our E90 and guess what it never went back right and the first time we took it back was because it felt a little loose, the second time kinda got it but it aint perfect. I say dont let them take any major part of the dash out.
