E90 LCI windscreen washer pump

Hola Peeps

My e90 windscreen washer pump is not working, there’s no sound when I trigger the level & the fluid is full. Any one had/has this issue & is it common on the e90 LCI? Not sure where to start🫣 will appreciate any advice or suggestions 👍👊

Hi Bud,

it is common for the pump to leak, not just stop working.
first place to start is with the fuse.

The pump is located behind the driver side fender at the bottom of the tank, you can remove the fender lining to get access - its not the easiest water bottle to remove due to the weird shape, check the connections/wiring, if the pump is burnt out, you can source a replacement from Goldwagen or BMW, they are not very expensive (<R500 at GW).

The pump filter is most likely clogged up.
I removed mine and cleaned the filter as well as the bottle. All good now no issues.

To be honest it was leaking intermittently for a good few months or so….but now the pump does not work 😳 I did have a look at the fuse box that’s situated in the glove compartment & to my surprise there’s no fuse meaning it’s missing. The pump stopped working for about a week now. Strange 🤔

I was thinking the same at one stage but it if it was clogged the pump should make some noise when triggering the level or I might be wrong 😑

That pump is situated in such an awkward position & takes a lot of time & patience to get to it. Anyone had this replaced in the Westrand area? Thanks

I know [mention]LYFGP [/mention] had a similar issue not so long ago and he stays in the west rand area. Maybe he knows someone he could refer you to.
