Whole Again!!

After 2 months of driving around with cardboard patches covering the holes where my indicators used to be... finally got it sorted this weekend.

Ended up modding the fender indicators by removing the lenses, so the badge sits flush on the body. I think it looks quite neat, and they're a lot harder to steal now... Can't see the indicator flash though, but that doesn't really matter.

A BIG Thank You to Leonard and Fraser. :ty:
Got Fraser's 2nd hand indicator units which were still mint. And got the trim pieces perfectly painted by Leonard - quick awesome service at a great price!

Much appreciated gents. Will post pic's of the mod later today, let me know what you guys think.

Glad I could help out....
Waiting in anticipation for the pics.....

However I have another idea for you that Ive seen.

If you carefull sand down the lense portion of the light half way, it will give the same effect as running flush with the body work and also provide less opportunity of them being stolen.

I'll try and find a pic but its definitely a DIY job with a steady hand and a sander.
(Actually that sounds a bit harsh)

I remember you mentioned this mod at Kyalami. I checked the net for some DIY guides or some pictures because I was paranoid about messing them up, given the price from the stealers for new 1's. Had no luck. But I think a better, safer technique for that mod would be to use a Dremel cutting tool and some masking tape.

It's difficult to explain without actually looking at the lense but the top is flat with 2 "pins" to help mount the badge, and the bottom is bevelled to slot into the groove in the base of the light unit. If you trim the lense, I think you might need trim from the middle, which would mean cutting each lense twice. This scared me even more, so I just went full flush :=): but I can still put the stock lenses back if I want to.
