Where to get new e34 Headlights?

I have decided that after I come back from holiday this December, that I am going to give the e34 M5 a “nip tuck”.:). That will include new lights and a complete front end respray, because of millions of stone chips, sandblasting and small scratches (I hate this black paint). Landing up behind an e92 M3 @ 2** doesn’t help either.:banghead:.
I know that Beemow sold new headlight clusters complete for +/- R1000 per side not too long ago, but they are out of stock, and they couldn’t manage to get some in the past 6 months.:cursin:.
Where can I go elsewhere since I tried: Beemow, Intercity, Grandmark and Goldwagen with no luck. I am willing to travel anywhere within a radius of +/- 100km around pta for this.
PS – I don’t want this rubbish that autostyle is selling, since it illuminates very badly and I want the OEM look. Maybe smoked, but that is as far as I will go off std.

Hey Fordkoppie, I have also been trying to source new headlights for my E34 proving to be quite a mission. Dealers prices are ridiculous, you can get just the glass housings for approx. R1500 each equating to somewhere in the region of R6000.00 for all 4.

The other options are the plastic replacement lenses or the nasty looking aftermarket one's with the "angel eye" rings that seem to be available locally which are not really options in my opinion. They do seem to be available to import but I am not too familiar with doing this.

I had been checking the classifieds and managed to buy a complete oem set, problem is the one side is brand new and the other is used. I have sinced bought a new driving light(for the used side), now all i need to find is the inner bright light and I will have a complete set of 4 new oem lights. Its been quite a costly and time consuming exercise but I am hoping the results will make it a worthwile exercise.

I have been reading up on how to remove and fit the lights, seems to be quite involved for my basic diy skills needing to strip out the grills and kidneys to get to the lights. If you know how to change the lights, we could attempt this together. Would this be better left to a bodyshop to fit???

Sorry I could not be more help in assisting sourcing the new parts but they tend to be scarce apart from having to go to the stealers.

Should be able to help you with the front end respray very very soon :)

As for the lights, you can order them from any Hella agent. No clue about pricing though

Sounds good LZ would you be able to assist in fitting the lights as well? I also have clear indicators which can go on at the same time...

Someone interesed in buying my M is gonna have a look at it tomorrow. If he takes it and doesn't absolutely insist on me throwing the original headlights in as part of the deal, the originals will be available. Will keep you posted bud

We need some evidence of this E92 thing you spoke about... :mmm:
The evidence is in the form of white chip marks on my black bonnet:censored: and broken headlights.
He was in front remember.
Ah, the joys and sorrows of breakfast runs:excited:

Now only realized where you heading.:hammerhead:
Hellas, i was not implying at all that my e34 M5 could even remotely keep up with an e92 M3.
He would be able to outrun me easily.
It was merely circumstantial and my own stupidity that i landed behind him at that speed and getting heavily sandblasted as punishment.
