HI All

And now that bastard MURPHY has stuck his head out.
Well the Turbo, which is 6 months old has blown. THis is due to the following reasons given by Stallion Turbo.
1) Oil Pressure is 1.1 bar
2) Crankase pressure which causes a lack of oil to the Turbo.

Basically guys, the engine is toast. So here is my question (s) .

Where can i buy a new engine ? And how much do i need to steal to pay for it?
is it worth getting it reconditioned ????

I am leaning towards buying a new or very low mileage engine and just replacing it.

Any comments or answers are welcome .

Thanks

sorry to say it mate, but you are looking for a very rare/expensive engine.. ive seen them go for as much as 35k.

why exactly do you say your engine is toast? did pieces of the turbo go through the engine?

Hi, I am new to BMWFanatics

Have read so many articles on BMWFanatics that I though I could replace my engine myself and I did... Thanks to all for the great articles.

4 Weeks later and she is running again... (very excited)

I looked all over, junkmail, gumtree, google... I found an engine at a scrapyard in JHB, stripped it and checked everything... Engine was in a crash, luckily from the side. I paid R23k - next to french autospares in JHB

The cheapest place I could find was Boston Jap Tech, but they had no imports from the east... they quoted me R20k...

I kept my engine, thus also have spares for any future problems, hopefully none.

Ask me any question relating to spares and I'll probably tell you where the cheapest ones are - seeing that I did a lot of homework.

Hope you find your engine.

Hi,

I have a second hand pump from a 2003 320d, pm me.
