elke gaatjie het 'n maatjie...

There's bound to be a hole somewhere for that thing, plus, you have the limited radius of the pipe to guide you too :)

The pipe isnt very long and doesnt look like it bends corners very well, so the hole it plugs into must be close by, if not then go see a mechanic or goto bmw and ask what the story is with that pipe lol

ok... me thinks me has something! :)

looks like the pipe and assembly it connects to is for the exhaust flap on the rear silencer.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CD18&mospid=47502&btnr=18_0236&hg=18&fg=20

See parts 12, 13, 15 & 16. Not sure if the 'electric valve' (part #16) is hiding in the fusebox, or if they are just doing this to route it to the back? Doubt it though, as there easier ways to route the pipe to the back. :slap:

If you still have your original exhaust and your flap is not working, then this is why (I think). If not, no worries then - it's not needed anymore.

Shot for that man. The pipe is just sitting by the fuse box ( not to be understood as being part of the connections to the fuse box ), it has enough leeway to be moved about 40cm in any direction. The exhaust is not original and the manifold has been swapped. perhaps youre right, maybe its not really needed, but its still sucking air when the car runs which worries me a tad. will have to take it to a mechanic to be 100% sure though.:)

I'm with Hellas on this one... it's like doing the "golf t" mod, except it's being done in the engine bay, and not at the rear silencer. :) there is nothing else hooked up tho this system, so no worries mate!
