What should I do ?

To cut a long story short, I had my front control arm bushes replaced at the stealers. After driving back and forth complaining that the car still dont feel right and receiving bullsh!t advice & quotes I took my car to a RMI approved garage to discover that the bushes werent replaced, it was only pressed in.

On the invoice the stealers charged me for the bushes & labour.

So what should i do now ? I got the bushes replaced and the worn bushes is left it in my boot.

I'm lost too ????

Also, AFAIK BMW does not replace bushes only on the lower control arms. Their policy was (is???) to replace the entire control arm including the bush. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

However, most independent places knock out the old bushes and replace them only, as 99% of the time the rest of the control arm is fine.

However, I'm lost as to what you are saying ...

I think he paid for new control arms (ie new bushes and arms) but the dealer only replaced the old bushes and did not install new control arms as well.

@ MSM - They only invoiced me for the bushes, not the entire control arm.

Maybe I could be wrong, but the invoice states E36 front rubber mountings and Wheel Susp Joint as being replaced. I dont have the invoice with me now but when I do, will post the part numbers on.

Well... if I understand this right, they charged for something they only claimed to have done. I would hand them over. Or at least threaten to do so and say that you'll lay a charge for endangering your life and anyone who drives with you.

Sorry... I don't much about the law, but I would have looked at doing something like this. Hopefully someone that knows more about the law will post here and can give better advice. They should at least give you your money back.

The problem is you went to another mech and he fixed the problem, now you have two guys that will just point fingers to one another and you won't solve your problems. You should have taken it back to the dealer once you found the problem and have them fix it.

@ Nic_s thats exactly what I meant to say, they charged me for things that werent done to my car.

@ P1000 - I took the car back to them however at the time wasn't aware what was causing the problem and they were quoting me for other things to be replaced. It was only after I took the car to another garage that I was told about this.

Apparently im not the 1st person to experienced this at the same Stealer, a fellow coworker told me his father had the same experience with a 5 series beemer, but he was smart..... he marked the parts that needed to be replaced before he left his car with them.
