So i Broke my E30 325i. I've been having overheating issues since I got it and never managed to sort it out, even after 2 thermo replacements and a brand new radiator... and this past weekend she litterally died. So now I need a new engine.

This is a track car and I would like suggestions on what engine I could use thats going to be reliable for track use and give me sufficeint power. Would like to go bigger then the stock engine.

ANy help would be much appreciated!

Something cheaper than an M3 engine could be a E36 328i motor, but if you can go for the M3 motor.

328I...you can get an engine for a decent amount and parts are readily available, compared to M3

Stroke it or rebore a bit if you can

I think an E36 M3 engine is going to be to expensive to buy and and maintain.
Im seariously considering a E36 328i engine. There arent many around, and they are still quite expensive. Around +- R12000.

Does anyone know of a place I could find an engine at a better price?

Ive already upgraded the brakes on the E30! So just need a faster engine now :)

Im not looking to turbo the car at all! I would like to keep it NA for the track (for the forseable future)

I just want a strong NA engine!

It's a good idea to stick to the cast iron lined engines anyway, or go with a cast iron block, like the M3's.

Be a sport and turbo the motor...there was one at the drags on Wednesday, it came after I left..some of the other guys from the forum saw it, said the car was insane...wish i had R100k laying around the house somewhere
