635CSi : The lack of storage space for wallet, cellphone, keys, drinks, GPS, CD boxes or CD wallet holder. Only so much can go in the glove box :nonono:

Most of those things were not even available in the 80's and early 90's.

+1

Fair point, but even then there is no storage space for map book cigarette box/pipe, cassette tapes, wallet and possible brick cellphone from the late 80s.:roflol: lack of cup holders. But I still LOVE my 635 :inlove:

That they couldn't make PDC a standard feature on a blerry R700k car :argh: And for some reason, the original owner didn't think that it was necessary. I don't see why he didn't, because it wasn't that he drove well, seeing the amount of scratches on the rear bumper.

I don't know why there was even an attempt to have cup holders in my car....
Maybe today's are better?

No, BMW cup-holders (well E90 that is) are not so great! Unless you are only literally using actual cups - put a 500ml coke and it is guaranteed to tip over and make a mess! Plus, apparently the E90 cup holders tend to get stuck and not come out when you press them. The ones in my Wife's E46 are a simpler approach, but the one spot is inaccessible due to the arm rest when down, so not totally practical, but still better than nothing!

I haven't had my car for that long, but so far the throttle response could be better, and the engine could give me more induction sound.

Other than that I absolutely love it.

Not a permanent "fix", but can try the throttle adaptation reset - seemed to work on my Wife's car. Key in and to the on position, then foot flat on the throttle for 10 seconds, then key to the off position for another 10 seconds. That should do it - start her up and the throttle should be crisp again and start learning again, so will eventually need to be reset again. The curse of drive by wire throttle, same thing with the E90 and others...

Some of you guys are going to nail me for this one...I am not going to state the things I "hate" as the threads' precondition dictates, rather I am going to list out my dislikes...

Things I dislike about my 1M:
-I dislike the fact that I was allocated a car I did not order :|
-I dislike the "clunking" diff - not sure if anyone else has the same issue.*
-(This one is an exception) I detest the standard BMW speakers.
-I dislike the scratch some a$$hole maliciously made on the side of the car. (meh)
-I dislike cleaning the rims - my knuckles will never be the same.
-I dislike the air conditioning which is like "an asthmatic blowing air on you".
-I dislike the fact that "out there", there are many GTI's that would "whack" my car...
-I dislike the tyre prices and that we are obligated to fit Michelin tyres for warranty purposes.**

*as per my dealership, this is how the LSD works (I disagree with them)
**as per my dealership, M PS2's have to be used.

I know about this, made no perceivable difference :/

Ok wait, I just tried this again right now, and it made a noticeable, but rather small difference. I as previously using the incorrect technique. Gonna have to do this one weekly basis.

Thirsty car, very thirsty
Speakers could be better
Window controls, tired of opening the rear windows instead of the front
Low as hell, have to find routes without humps, which is difficult these days
Hard ride
Love every minute of it.

BMW service, absolutely outrageous – my car (530d) came out of motor plan in Jan, I had an oil service at Alberante in Feb cost me R9000 which stung a bit but I swallowed it. Next thing is to change the microfilters (2) , they also wanted to change the engine oil – quoted me R6000, I said no so they charged me R1700. The oil didn’t need changing according to the OBC but it is “recommended” according to the dealer – what a load of rubbish and whoever heard of oil change costing R4300???

:argh:

Having got that off my chest…. does anybody know of a decent mechanic in the South somewhere who can do the business without gouging me?

EEUUOOWWW, they're screwing you big time. Just spent 3k on an M5 oil service and check up.:thumbdo:

Yep, often considered to be a placebo effect - but it did seem to work when I tried it on her car and the similar process on mine. But yes, small difference overall...

I hate the fact that mine is Auto. I flip it over to manual mode I lift off the throttle just so it feels like a real manual - what a poser I am. :nonono:

On my 135:
Seats are not to my liking, esp on engaging bends.
Speakers sound like the a poor chinaman set of 'Walkman' headphones from the 80's coupled to a warped TDK cassette. :thumbdo:

Z4M
The fact that my knee hits the dash when I change gears sometimes
The traction control gets involved way to early IMHO.
The auto lights seem to think that 9am with bright sunshine is night time:rollsmile:

BMW tech's, the most popular line, "there is no error code showing up, the car is fine"
