What do I use to clean the intake?

Howzit gents.

Going to change my PCV valve this weekend. Unfortunately, im sure by now the intake is coated inside with old oil and other stuff. What i need to know, is there any aerosol that can be used to get rid of it, or do i have to take the intake off and clean it? and if so, whats the best chemical to use?

First time im doing this....so im abit clueless

ye, use parrafin to soften everything up, brush with a paintbrush as far as you can, then finish off with carb cleaner.buy lots, trust me.

petrol cleans away old oil aswell,
