E36 M3, 3.2 L, when driving the car in any gear at times it kinda clutch itself revs up and then drives like normal... any ideas what could be the issue?

Looks to be more like a clutch issue... just having put on a machine to see if it picks up any faults on sensors etc...

Its a manual, right? (Not sure if you could get the M3 in an auto)

shot in the dark: main seal leak causing clutch to slip, burning off the oil then repeat...

good guess imo - should be more frequent when oil is hot..?
