Hey guys

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but the speed limits on the M1 have changed, ever since they redid the highways. I noticed this week that before where it was 120 all the way to Sandton now the speed limit is 100 from woodmead all theway down to Jan Smuts and all their signs have the little camera on warning of speed trapping and I think we all know how much JMPD love the M1 so I expect a massive boost in revenue for them  .......So becareful guys!!

:argh:

I noticed this last night. Sad indeed.

I wanna see the accident stats after this. Everybody is so concerned about the speed limit, nobody seems to care about the people driving the cars.

Why the hell aren't they revisiting the licensing process and doing away with this K53 horse sh!t...

Caddy, I don't think its the K53 I think the main problem is that its so easy to buy your licence everyone knows a "guy" who will hook you up plus most of the cars on our road haven't been serviced in years..........It's ridiculous plus I find the idiots that drive at 60 on the highway more of a danger then the guy minding his own business on the fast lane at 140...........there's so much wrong but giving us speeding fines is the easy work. :argh: Bloddy bastards

I know what you mean. But we all get tested in a little Yaris or Tazz in the middle of the day at 40 km/h. The K53 test doesn't even include something as basic as freeway driving and this is where they reduce the speed limits because of accidents.

Where's the logic?

And as for all the other teachings of K53, nobody monitors them. All metros do is find a cozy and scenic spot to practice photography.

When last did you get a ticket for not having both hands on the wheel at all times?

K53 is inferior!

agree.

any idea why there hasnt been trapping between olifants and atterbury in a long time. Olifants is always a hotspot though.

the only one i see sometimes is the Garstfontein one on the N1N.

i agree, you can fail for rolling the car one cm but no one cares if you know how to drive on the highway, or at night and god forbid it rains cos then everyone forgets how to drive..................

I might lose my cool for getting a fine for not having both hands on the wheel it wou7ld be so unexpected........:fencelook:

I look forward to the 120 zones and now it's gone  ...though it is sad how they worry more about speed than the way people drive..
