Cool keep us updated as I wanna start saving for one.
I just made a temp one out of my GPS mount and a cheap (read FAKE) gorillar tripod that I had. Stuck the 2 together with insulation tape and then glued the tripod in position. Will be testing it later. Only problem so far is it is now in 1 position, so can only be used attached to the front windscreen in my car, cant move it around cause then it will be facing the wrong direction

My Mount was a FAIL. It rattled and wobbled the whole time!!
I tried that. Only a dedicated mount to hold the weight of a camera will work. The one i have as in the pics on this thread is very strong and works brilliantly. But if i can get the local one for cheaper will make a good present.
Safety is paramount when choosing a mount...you don't want it fly against the windows or your head when stopping suddenly. :thinker:

Twinz has it arrived?? i wanna put in my order soon but seeing as its my really hard earned cash I dont want something that doesnt work that great.

Cool cool. Well I ordered mine today. should get it the day before I leave for holiday. Need it for some 4x4 filming during December
The "Panavise 809 Camera Window Suction Cup Mount" finally arrived today.
It is one hot little mounting mod.:thumbsup: The quality is much better than the RAM mount which i reviewed in this thread. It feels and is studier/strong and has less connecting bits. The suction mount is larger in diameter and "sucks"...
strongly on the window surface compared to the RAM unit.
I like the simplicity of the design; classy looks and one amazing locking mechanism (Press) to secure the unit.
Other comparisons:
1. Not as long as the RAM mount when you fasten it to the sunroof...so handling the camera looking up takes a bit of practice.
2. It cannot move in many directions like the RAM. so you have to choose fixed points.
Summary: However, I prefer this new Panavise mount to the RAM....:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I see the same company has other mounting products as well...outside the car mounting etc... will look at those in the future...
Ps...this was meant to be a present for my friend Revo but now he has to wait for the next shipment...me like this toy too much...:excited: sorry buddy...:bawling:

Twinz it looks awesome, glad i ordered one as well. cant wait to see some videos from you we must find someone with a server that we can upload videos onto, just for members viewing pleasure. that way no worries about number plates etc

I thought:
1.Our wives have given up (trying to save us) long ago...hey?
2. Jezebel does not have a boyfriend (i hope not) and Twinz is such a flirt, perhaps they could hook up?
3. I share your passion for BMW/Cars and modding almost to the point of "strangeness"...you know when people say...daai ou is nie lekker nie?...that kind of thing.
4. I am also not very competitive (Jezebel appears same). i just like to make the car distinctive and extracting all its potential within its limits compared to the rest...
Will you join us (Exclusively M) on 15 December at Spier...it would be great to chat and just look at our cars adoringly...:thumbsup:
