VERY IMPORTANT
Guys there is a an online petition to get our voices heard about the HPFP problems with our cars..PLEASE spread this around..get as many people to sign as possible.. I just did

@Tibra1 Yah we should cause a big stink with it. It hardly affects South African car and cannot say the negative press does much for our vehicles resale values.
I agree, with George...speaking to our local dealers they dont have many HPFP replacements...there are some...but not like in the US and Europe.
My only concern is that the pump failure can and has caused major inconvenience and some cases loss of finance to the driver. What if the pump fails when one is on holiday or a remote location; considering issues of crime? Anyway it seems the new pump on my car is holding out well even under high boost so perhaps it was just the bad race fuel or something.

Just a question about the HPFP on the 335i, is the pressure the same as on the 530d cp1 pump or much lower, i have a 530d with 247000k with no hassles on the pump, what is the pressure on the 335i pump?
Is the failures then mainly due to the feul quality, as opposed to the diesel hp pumps that get a lot of lubrication from the feul itself?
I am getting a 335i soon as well, now i am getting a bit worried about what i read of the problems on the HPFP.

No idea on the pump pressure.
But i dont think you have to worry about the HPFP if you have the new pump installed. If you have the old one; there is currently a recall at our dealerships to replace the old pumps...so you good to go. I have not had any issues since replacing mine and I do run very high boost compared to most, probably only out flanked by George.

I don't know why the one with the lower pressure gets more failures, maybe because of the lubricating properties of the different fuels? Maybe the design is completely different and not so good in the petrol's case?

Mine was also replaced with latest one Part 13 51 7 616 446. But i am now getting "Engine fault: Reduced Power" problem more often than before. In last 2 months the car will be going back to the dealer for the 4th time. They say they need to spend more time to diagnose the problem.

Pity the fool who buy's one out of motorplan...I just find it strange that BMW have not been able to solve the problem :nonono:

My f#cking car went in to replace a perfectly fine HPFP on a mandatory recall about 2-3 months ago, and they did the injectors. Now I have had 2 limp$odes with 29F2 code meaning the fuel pump is gone, it makes me crazy!
