turbo problems

Hey guys, what are the tell signs that your turbo is going? 320d e46 with about 165 thousand on the clock... I know if i put foot down, i get a cloud of black smoke and my car feels sluggish to me... please help

When I had my 320D the turbo started making a whining/whistling noise...a buddy told me then i have to check the turbo out cause it sounds to him that it's on it's way out ...i took the car in and Auric Auto confirmed it and then replaced it:thumbs:
So listen for that sound as well

Black smoke is over fuelling, so either boost is down or injectors are fuelling too much, am I correct diesel guys?

yes white smoke and as well as when I start my car, it gives off smoke again...well more greyish but it is not allot but enough to be noticed when I push the car. I will see if I can post a picture off the smoke to help, but the only reason I am not taking the car in, as it has no motor plan and I am sure it will cost a bit just to diagnose the problem.

there in Bloem on your way to Bloemspruit just after the bridge is a short Turn Right and imidiately left. to the industrial area i forgot what its called. There is a Turbo place think Mr turbo or something. Take the car there and ask the guy to look at it. :thumbs:

lack of power + black smoke + white smoke while ideling = highly likely turbo

If its Early stages they can have the turbo serviced, else you have to replace bud. :thumbs:
