Hi guys , I have a 2011 320i with 57000km , and a dealer told me the trade value is 170000 :thumbdo:, I don't believe him , could someone please enlighten me?
A friend of mine has the same car and has been trying to trade it in for a year now. I took him to a friend of mine that's a sales guy at a ford dealership. Long story short, he told me the E90 resale value basically tanked when BMW started selling them with those R50k cash back deals in 2011.
Not really. He hasn't yet found anyone that is willing to trade it for the full settlement. In his case he took the 50k as cash, no deposit and massive balloon payment on top of that. O and he hasn't looked after it either. Bumps and scrapes all over the car.
Good luck with finding a private buyer though. Hope it works out for you.
My Gf's mom has a '10 320i with about 102k km on the clock and she gat a trade value at BMW for +-150 when she was on 94k km they where willing to give 170k. Hope this helps...

It doesn't always work by the book, or the value stated in the book.
It's also a supply/demand thing. A standard 3er, base model is far more difficult to resell than one with a sport pack for instance, so it'll be worth less to the dealer than what the book states. Also, it depends on the condition of the vehicle. (not suggesting yours isn't in good nick, but the dealer will take very aspect into account as he needs to get it back to, or as close to the original state as possible.)
Bought my 2011 E90 320i five months ago for R219000 with 32k on the clock. Thought I was getting a hell of a deal Now dealers are selling the same cars for as low as R180000 argh! Can't believe it! Maybe I should have waited a few months and gone for a F30 320i 2012. See they are as low as R269000.
