Tough Choices

I am on the cusp of buying a BMW and I'm struggling to decide between the two. I would like the forum's help to decide.

The two cars in question are spec'd similarly:

1. 420d Gran Coupe M sport (white)
OPTIONS: Alpine White III, Leather Dakota Black, 19" M Lt/Aly wheels Double-sp. 442 M with mixed tyres, M Sport package, Highlight trim finishers Black high-gloss, Interior trim finishers Aluminium Hexagon, M Sports Suspension, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line, Sport automatic transmission, Through-load Facility, Park Distance Control (PDC),front & rear, Glass Sunroof, electric with sliding and vent function, Harman/kardon Surround Sound System.

2. 330d M sport (blue)
OPTIONS: Estoril Blue Metallic, Leather Dakota Black, 19" M light alloy wheels Star-spoke style 403 M with mixed tyres, M Sport package, Highlight trim finishers Black high-gloss, Interior trim finishers Aluminium Hexagon, M Sports Suspension, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line, Sport automatic transmission, Interior and Exterior mirrors with automatic anti-dazzle, fold-in function, Xenon headlights, M Sport brakes, Park Distance Control (PDC),front & rear, Convenience telephony with extended smartphone connectivity, Glass Sunroof, electric with sliding and vent function, Harman/kardon Surround Sound System, Headlamp washer system.

My previous car was a Le Mans Blue 335i M Sport (2007). The 330d is most similar to my previous car in driving feel but I think the gran coupe is a stunning looking vehicle and has a LOT more boot space (considering the fold down seats).

I've linked both cars, please have a look and let me know which one you'd buy and why.

If it was my money I would take th 330d as it would take less of a hammering resale wise...

330d is well specced and looks great in Estoril Blue.
Will provide a better thrill and lose less money when it's time to sell.

330d is quite legendary. 420d though not a slouch and would offer more luxury and practicality. However 330d is sn awesome machine to be in and use as a daily.

Do any of the cars come with navigation?

If the 4 series was a coupe I would hands down choose the 4 series but since its a 4 door the choice is obvious. 330d all the way. I see no reason "other than colour" to go for the 4 series at all.

The 4 series is a great looking car!!! Frameless windows all four doors, automatic boot etc is all nice. Depends what you looking for really. A performer or something that just looks good with a big boot.

My mom has the 4 series and loves it but misses the power of her old 328i F30.

Myself I like features and driving convenience in my daily so extended smartphone connectivity took it for me.

Streaming music through the car is a must for me as well as the telephone connectivity.

Personally I love the 4 GC, but it isn't going to perform like the 330d. Rarity has its positives and negatives. There are a lot more 3s out there than 4s...

Losing more money than the 3? Not so far it would seem... Anyway the 420 and 330 above are the same price here with the same miles yet the 330d (current base pricing) is 80K more than the 420d to begin with suggesting the 3 has lost more than the 4 in the same time period (no options taken into account but both seem to have HK, Sport Auto and don't have the extended clusters)

It is a tough choice but for a daily and between these two specific cars I'd go 4 GC.

a 2.0d will feel slow and leave you disappointed if you have owned a 335i.

On that basis alone Ill take the 330d

330D because BMW is 3 series, 4 series GC is nice to look at at some angles but the F30 remains the best looking and also that power
