To the ahole who cut me off on the n2

Some interesting points here, I will be honest I have "undertaken" many times before, and yes it would be deemed wrong, why I do this, is because people refuse to allow me to pass, and when i mean pass, only when there is no one in front of them. They can clearly see i would like to pass and they are either not paying attention or refuse to move. Having a car with the ability to move past them comfortably (safely is the goal) i do so. Funny thing is when you "undertake" the person that did not want to let you pass often then accelerates deliberately to cut off the gap, now this is far more dangerous the the undertaking move. The best part about owning a 135i is that most of the time, there is enough grunt to easily counter their cutting off (safely) and perform the the undertake regardless of their attempt to cut you off. Note this gives me great satisfaction.

What i can agree with is that I like to leave a safe travelling distance and guys always want to move into this gap:thumbdo: they drive up your arse and then when you don't move because there is a car in front of you they get all worked up, This grates my cheese so much because firstly it is so dangerous to drive up someone arse especially on a highway and secondly, I am not moving for you when I am "in the line". They then want to perform the undertake, I close the gap...... and hence the argument begins.

What about Keep Left, Pass Right ?

He should not have been hogging the right lane anyway ?

So he was totally in the right was he ?

There must have been slower vehicle/s in the left lane, hence the OP also wanting to use the RHS lane.

Obviously not if the OP was able to attempt an overtake from the left.

Why did the OP then need to get into the RH lane?

What usually happens is that there is a truck with traffic behind it 50 m ahead in the LH lane travelling at 60km/h.

Entire RH lane travelling at 90km/h overtaking. OP sees a gap ahead of the 1er because he is in an emergency and takes it.

1er driver is not having it with this bimmer driver(OP) who wants to cut through and not follow in line like the rest of the RH lane.

That's just my assumption. OP could clear it up.

That's it exactly !

Sorry Bud, but I think you're in the wrong.

I must admit, I also hate when I have left a safe distance between the car in front of me and myself and some tosser always trys to get into that gap, its like they trying to get into my personal space! I don't like driving on peoples asses, if they suddenly have to brake you will go into them, that is just fact! you will not stop in time and if you by some miracle do stop in time the tosser who is driving on your ass wont stop in time and will go into you!

People need to realize this! I also often get into the right lane and some doos is sitting there driving 90kph or 80kph and just won't move!! It's usually 4x4's that do this, It's quite frustrating and you always then have to pass them on the left and pull in front of them! I like to pull in front of them and hit brakes in these situations to show them what dooses they are being! Most of the time this gets them into a huff to move over into the left lane and then try to over take you and cut back in front of me, at which point my diesel power kicks in and laughs at the massive Range rover discovery kak car etc that now cannot even hope to pass you! (Yes if you are a chop on the road to me I will be one right back, two wrongs don't make a right but it does make you smile sometimes and puts 4x4 drivers egos back in the little clown box from where it came!) :fencelook:

Two wrongs don't make a right, but:

Regulation 323(5) states: “Where the driver of a motor vehicle which is being driven in the right-hand traffic lane or in the traffic lane furthest to the right on a freeway (hereinafter referred to as the first vehicle) becomes aware that the driver of another motor vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the second vehicle) intends to overtake the first vehicle, the driver of the first vehicle shall steer that vehicle to a lane to the left of the one in which he or she is driving, without endangering himself or herself or other traffic or property on the freeway, and shall not accelerate the speed of his or her vehicle until the second vehicle has passed.”

Regulation 323(6) then goes on to state: “For the purposes of subregulation (5) the driver of the second vehicle may make the driver of the first vehicle aware that he or she intends to overtake the first vehicle by giving the driver thereof a visible signal by means of flashing the headlights of his or her vehicle.”

When on the highway: If you are in the right-most lane, and there is room to move to the left and you don't, you are either a bit distracted, deur die kak (it happens), or you are a c*nt.
Sure, there might be a slow moving car 30m ahead of you that you will want to pass, and it's OK, but the minute that you don't see anything else you want to overtake, just move one lane to the left please.

Edit: it doesn't seem like this applies to what happened to OP, but that was my rant for tonight.

Do not under any circumstances flash your lights! I tried it twice and both drivers almost stopped dead (I was far enough fortunately). This happened on the N3 North and N1 South. My colleagues say they would slow down if flashed so be careful of the SA driver mentality.
