i ran ahead of a c63 with my old 335i , from the line till 250km/h , the same c63 ran ahead of a few e63's.
as to the v10 , i think the m5 will start to stretch its legs after 3rd gear here at the coast and the 335i is not gonna fare well

How long does it take to remove all the mod pieces? Two days minimum for me. But at least the next service is mid next year and then I may have the new M5 already...so fun galore until then :joy:

Although I read through this thread only the past week, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I've got a 2001 model E46 M3 with a few mods which goes very well but the 335i still stays just ahead. My M3 will soon see a shorter diff ratio and will be modded up to at least 300kw (NA), then I will kick ass!!

My wife is going to love me for that:rollsmile:

Dont even bother with a race bru, at the end of the day you have a ///M3 which is the finest perfection of all its smaller brothers...so WTF!!!

Drag racing is hardly the pinnacle of motorsport. If your car can go faster in a straight line and that makes you happy, fine. An ///M car is (and has always been) much, much more than that.

We should arrange like a "Fastest Street Car" type thing with 400m, 800m gymkhana, top end and track runs between m's and x35's. That will bring into effect acceleration, handling and speed.

Only thing is, this should be done at the coast.... Settle the score once and for all

results wer

0-400m
135 13.3
335 coupe 13.5
E46 M3 13.7

Around the track the E46 was faster than both.

What does a modded 135 do time wise at the coast over 400m? If a slightly worked 36 M can do 13.1s (decent tires, chip, induction, fuel, diff mods) surely the V8 can do low 12s with some tweaks? Also how long will a modded x35 last :)? I have already seen some stories on the net of them braking under boost, the v8 M3 will prob do 400 000km?

That said if I would prob rather get a low mileage E60 M5 than a V8 M, do you V8 M guys use the launch control?

I have read some stories on the net where lots of makes of cars break when stock. my 135i is just fine. I don't plan on keeping my car for 400 000km :)

hehehe after I posted that I thought I would get some of those replies :), the 135 is a bit small for my tastes I like the 335 coupe alot more and it has that classic coupe shape. But those 135s are definately great value for money :) awesome car
