I doubt that Jab would want to jeopardise his motorplan? M3's must be very expensive to maintain off motorplan. Lets face it, an M3 is a very pricey car, and most of us dont drive the speeds that the M3 excels at.
:idea: Jab, why not sell it, and get a nicely spec'ed and modded x35i. You will have a large amount of change too

Exactly, you have a M3. If a x35i pulls up next to you wanting to race just don't indulge him/her and you won't have to worry about losing. M3 is a better car, maybe not better value for money but still an amazing car.
If you are worried about racing then get a SC kit but otherwise just enjoy the car :thumbs:

On a serious note though its far easier to launch a M3 than a 35 due to the massive torque the 35 has. Practice your launches, do pipe and software and I guarantee you that you will win 18 out of 20 races.

Well on the topic IMO the M is a better packaged car interior and exterior wise and that V8( the sound of that engine is heavenly) but the engine in the x35 has got the balls to hang with the M... I even think BMW cant believe their 6 cylinder twin engine would prove to be such a legend.
I had the pleasure of driving both cars for a week each last year... The 135i has the kick and sharpness... the acceleration is out of this world.
Then I drove the M.... All I can say is the peoples reaction to the car was a big :thumbs: it has more sex appeal... plus what I really liked is the ability to cruise yet sound like you eating the road up coz of that V8
sound track... it comes down to what you want!
Btw the M3 had a chip ( car was sent to be modified in germany ) and full exhaust conversion.... 37 000 km on the clock - NO MOTORPLAN... the guy I spoke to said the car is pushing about +- 340 kw compared to the 309kw standard ( could be bullshit )... the car recently needed to have the ABS sensor replaced went to try my luck to see if I could bypass the system lol and the MP came back with big CANCELLED stamp.. so ordered the sensor its about R8000 with fitment...

Well my Dad had this Friend MR Shaffer ( german dude ) was the Director at Afrigold I think... he relocated to S.A 3 years back for a contract... he bought the M3 as his weekend car... he sent the car or possibly the DME to germany as he knew a few people.... so his contract ended this year and he was moving back bought the car from him for a superb price of..... Wait for it R450 000
Well the guy fitting the sensor has been our Mech for years his a family friend... he worked for bmw then left and then they wanted him back so he only services our cars. he quoted us this could possibly include a service aswell.

Please read what I said , I said the particular poster sounds like a tool and most M owners buy the cars for the badge rather than the cars ability!
But that's my opinion , maybe 90 percent of them do regular track days and exploit the chasis's handling ability regularly ......... The on the road characteristics of the car don't really shout "superiority" .

You probably the guys that will say things like "oh but you could have gotten so and so car and it will be much faster and better value for money"
Why do people buy more expensive stuff? Most of the time is because they want to and they can afford to do so, they have work hard for their money and they feel like they deserve something nice. And for you and anybody to knock on that I don't think is cool.
An M car will always be a measuring stick for any car on the road, especially the M3. Now I'm not saying the M3 is the best car in the world, but if you don't enjoy your car, you shouldn't have gotten it at the first place!
