Tired of being challenged by 135/335 drivers - mods?

well i have software and exhaust on my m3 and i have not lost to a 135 or 335 since the mods

before you guys come down on me, the x35 modded are quick but after 170 they start looking for parking space against the v8

being able to drive a v8 to its best abiltys is not easy, but once you have learnt the car it turns into a different animal

the main problem with audi is most of the cars are Fwd golfs with an added boot... you may as well have a jetta...

I have had 2x S3's. They are great for traction, especially in the wet, but the 135i is in a different class altogether. Good choice

The following contribution might not add anything new to the topic but it certainly will make some of you laugh (with me or at me).

At the outset I should highlight that I am a fan of the 135i, 335 and Z4 35i - I have made peace with the fact that my cars cannot outrun them….but I keep trying because its freakn fun particularly when you get to the twisty parts of the road. I guess guys just need to leave their egos in the cubby and enjoy their car(s) whether or not it’s an M car.

Now for the funny part: earlier in the year while travelling toward Magaliesburg for a breakfast date with the girlfriend I came across a black Gti..actually he found me (I now realize that his sole aim was to embarrass me). The car looked standard and it was carrying 4 passengers. The Gti driver made it clear that he wanted to have fun and I obliged….well I tried to.

The outcome:

Rolling start: Gti 1 – Z4M 0
Standing start: Gti 1 – Z4M 0
Rolling start again (just to make sure) - Gti 1 – Z4M 0
Rolling start (me cheating by accelerating before I was supposed to) : Gti 1 – Z4M 0
Standing start (me cheating again) ….I think you get the picture

I phoned forum member Fordkoppie to tell him of my embarrassing moment(s) and to seek some comfort….BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS A GOOD REASON FOR FLACID DICK PERFORMANCE (OR SO I’M TOLD) - he laughed…laughed again, laughed some more….tried to compose himself….laughed some more and then said with a giggle….”maybe the road temp was high (because it was hot on the day) … M cars don’t like that”


So my new (and riskier) strategy is:

2. AND THEN CHASE THE FKUCER INTO THE TWISTIES BECAUSE AN M CARS SUSPENSION WILL HANDLE IT BETTER

HAVE A LAUGH (ON ME)… AND DON’T TAKE LIFE SO SERIOUSLY GUY….my 2c

Those Gti's are quick man. You can expect anything. You handled it well. I have also loss a few times but when i win i make it count...hehe..

I have a little step. 330 and met a Black 335 (black rims and 2 very large pipes) about a week ago on Umgeni Road (Did try and find him amongst the comments). This ou pulls up next to me and sizes up my car, my wife and me and gives me a couple nods. Thinking his being friendly because we BMW fans I give him a thumbs up and small grin (Howsit). Mr man decides to give off a few revs (sounded nice) :bravo: and wifey taps me and says his bumping. Oh okay don't want to seem afraid in front of wifey (Even though I was intimidated by the sound, never mind the badge) because I'm always bragging about my 3L. I switch over to manual, robot changes and off we go. The sound that 335i made at take off was enough for me to hit my brakes. Promise you not even 100m, he about 1 car length in front it seemed like sparks were coming out of this ous exhaust and yes I pulled back . Guys I backed off and my reason to wifey :argh: damm pot holes.
Thanks 335 I had a great laugh to myself :joy: and sure I made him feel like the man. Next time we meet up his in trouble!!!! :rollsmile:

:roflol: loved your story. Umgeni road is not the road to be burning it though. As I am sure you are aware, they are permanently trapping along there.

Nice to see someone with humour. As for the loss, dont feel bad - he should pick on someone his own size in future
