i'm thinking about tinting my cars windows again
Maybe 50%

Can anyone recommend a place that knows how to apply tints on the 3 series coupe rear windows.

They have these dots all around the windows and the reason i removed the last tints was because it wasnt sticking well over the dot area.
Starts looking crap after a while.

there is a Solace tint shop at N1 city behind the Land Rover building, they did the tinting on Risipits 135i, quite a nice job.

the tint we use on the rear film is still generally thicker than the old run of the mill tint used in the old days (around 30/35micron)

if its on the sides and they fitted smash n grab atleast 100 micron up....

reason it doesnt stick nicely on the dot matrix is that the film is thick and doesn't allow a perfect seat on the dot matrix as it is not a smooth surface.....unfortunately that can not be remedied....

its shouldn't get worse however....

zaa.. I have seen guys in the states and they are getting it right.
Dnt know what they do, but it looks much better than the locals i have had a look at.

If u can make magic, you will get alotta tint jobs

also remember...the lower the micron, the heavier the car, at least the weight of a bag of potatoes...and you don't want that for sure

Revo, i am kidding with you, you saw my tint...was done by auto armor in Parow...if it is just the rear window, you can wait while they work on it and give them instructions on the job! But the - rear job - heeehee, is always tricky to get 100% right. :thumbsup:

but the coupe just has so many dots on the rear window! ... what's the purpose of these things anyway?

if u use a thinner micron film you can get it better

from what i know the factory uses that dot matrix as a type of a tint to give it some character...or so i was told-lol

Doubt they will get the rear perfect..
