Hi Guys , My cars a 2002 E46 318i N42 engine , Automatic car has 204 020 kms

As mentioned in a previous post , I sent my car in this morning for its valve stem seal replacement.

I managed to visit it this afternoon and take a picture of the engine with the cover off , they haven't completed the job, although the new seals are now in.

This is the only quick picture I could take .
I know nothing about engines ( looking at it like this) , Any comments advice would be really appreciated .

What do you guys think? Is it bad ? messy ? sludgy? Scratched? Worn, from looking at it just as it is , does it look like I should replace anything or is it badly discolored?

They tell me that I dont need to change the Guide rail as its still in very good condition . I was going to initially change it , The car has had chain tension bolt replaced previously as well to the new type .
