If guys want to do track days I see no reason why we cannot piggy back onto existing ones till numbers grow... no need for R 80k investment to make it happen just have a meet at the track day

Was thinking this as well. Hiring an entire track seems overkill to me. Especially as not all attending will take their vehicles on the track.

guys driving can drive and chat... guys that dont want to drive can chat/braai/check out cars/whatever

Plus, It would be nice if the guys taking their cars on the track would accept ride-alongs.

I would gladly volunteer to do all the braaing, for a lap or 2 around a circuit in the passenger seat of an M-car.

You are welcome to join me and a couple of fanatics at Midvaal on the 24th, I don't have a M car, but with the roof down, it will feel fast :rollsmile:

Do you have more details? Perhaps create a thread in the Non-Official events section? Maybe we can get a list of people attending and set up a bring and braai? I will try my best to attend...

Guys, I'll get some detail, especially on passengers, but Midvaal is pretty relaxed, and I've taken my mate round before.

I'll start a thread as suggested once detail is known.

Note guys, this was not meant to be a event, simply a couple of nutters who love to drive their cars getting together. Perhaps that is what's missing?? a couple of flash mob style "events", come don't come, no real time wasted...

90% of the comments are just in general. It was brought up by a few people that they feel awkward going to an event and they don't know anyone. Suggestions were brought up about how to approach an event, but those comments weren't directed at you.
ET was here made a comment about race being the reason people don't want to socialize and that ignited a spark from a lot of members, but again, that was in no way directed at you.

A lot of members who haven't been on this forum for a while (mostly because they are sour about something that happened donkey years ago), decided that this is the time and place to rant. It annoyed a few members and they had their say, but again, it was not directed at you.

I encourage you to attend the next event, I am certain you will meet plenty of guys that you can chat to for hours.
I was lucky because I ended up chatting to a bunch of guys who I now call these stupid, douchebag, ding bats, my family :rollsmile:
