Read through pages 1–15… instantly opened Facebook Marketplace to look for an E36 328i… only to end up disappointed 🤦‍♂️

Car looks amazing — really enjoyed reading through your progress from the start!

And the brakes? Some pads take a while to switch on too!

I suppose the MO is the same at other hill climb events, such as Simola?

Who needs brakes for 140kw? :p

@M3boi doesn't buy them, they buy him.

A millie is a millie my guy.

Thank you! Yeah I think the times of 325's and 328's being readily available and for decent pricing is long gone... I got very lucky buying when I did. Now people want stupid money for average cars because you can't find any for sale anymore. The things @TBP88 would do for an E36 these days are diabolical.

Don't see why you're complaining when you know you're going to enjoy every inch of it. I like my puns intended.

Geez, almost a year since I've updated this thread. Wild.

Not much to update though tbf, honestly just been enjoying the car. Haven't driven it much this year though sadly, with waiting for tyres for months at one stage, and then brake pads from Japan for another 3 months, I've only put 3-4k km on it since Jan. Quite a few of our driving roads been closed too sadly.

Honestly haven't done anything to it mod wise this year, its just so good as it is. Super reliable too, no issues. Just keep punishing the car every time I drive it and it takes it so well.

Got invited to attend Spring Rally this past weekend, so thought it would be a good idea to stretch the E36's legs after standing for so long. Was such a fun trip into the Karoo with a bunch of mates. It was the longest trip I've done at once with it, and happy to report 600km of trouble-free motoring!

Even the wife who doesn't really like the E36 much said she was very comfortable, even with all the guys chasing each other on some long open stretches in the Karoo because we couldn't help ourselves. She sat in the comfy stock passenger seat reading her Kindle, not phased at all. Even said on the way home how impressed she was with it considering all the abuse it gets, should've recorded that and kept it on file for the next time she asks me when I'm selling the silver shitbox that sits in the garage.

I know I sound like a stuck record, but if you haven't owned an E36, you really need to at some point in your life. I cannot tell you how much joy this stupid thing brings me.
