So this brings us nearly up to date. Here is a gratuitous shot of a clean and beautiful little wheel.
One of the last things to do was to tidy up the dashboard area and make it useful.
Seeing as we had gutted the little car, we needed somewhere to put stuff like keys and cans of beer. Luckily we spotted this old SADF ammo satchel in a market close to the Free State.
Seeing WTF is going on with the car is also a good idea so we added an Acewell Digidash. It has a cool bar graph for revs and a load of idiot lights as well as a host of other info like Water Temp and trip meter and so on.
As we had planned to track the car, we also needed switches! Lots of glorious switches! From left to right is Kill Switch, Starter, Ignition, Fuel Pump and Instruments.
Some groovy plasma gauges to with more information, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, AFR and Volts. All very important. A nice function is that they go red when you put your lights on
Here we have a Bright Lights! shot of the cockpit.
And zoomed out a little.
Note the re-purposed leather belts. Instead of using rivets we used belts to absorb rattles. Works well.
Evan tidied up the boot area, I think he painted the boot lid to match the Willard battery! :clapper: Note the insane electric fuel pump, something like 40 gallon a minute. This is why we use a fuel pressure regulator!
Sexy custom battery strap too.
So, in December I bought this
Not being able to leave things as they are, it was quickly pulled apart.
For all it's badassery, the mini has always had a kak exhaust.
Hmmmm.
That's kak.
So, we take 2x Harley Davidson Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers, a Rat Rod Mini, a TIG Welder, some stainless 50mm piping and gently blend.
et voilà!!
All the F***ing Badassery you can possibly handle.
BRAAAAAP!!!!! At idle it even sounds like a Harley. :evilish:
Evan has decided the welds are not good enough, so off it comes and it's time for a polish and cleanup!!
