Guys, need some assistance please.

Car seems to be steering from the rear on the motorway. This points to the RTAB's being shot. Went to replace them today and it seems they were done before. They are solid as and no real movement as per failed units.

Any ideas as to what it could be? I have new RTAB's but no point changing them if they seem to be ok.
Get it on to an alignment machine, it should give you an indication of where to look.

Are the rear tires the same brand, size and tread depth?

Have had the alignment checked at two places already and they say it's spot on.

Did some research online last night and you are bang on. The front tyres are Toyo Proxes and the rear rear's are Nefertiti's or something. It seems that these cars are really sensitive to tyre choice and mixing, even in the same brand of tyre is a no no. Oh well, at least I know there is nothing actually wrong with the car then.

Thank you

Pics of the shock mounting repair as promised.

What it looked like before:

All cleaned up prior to re-assembly:

All back together:

Decided to see what is involved with splitting the door card components. Need to get a slightly bigger drill, the one I have works, but it could be easier and better. Will get that tomorrow along with the screws and washers. Decided to use the old passenger side panel that won't be used again anyways to do trials.

I've heard before of different brand tries or thread pattern between front and rear causes some weird things.

And what it looks like from the drivers seat now:

All panels have only had a wipe down, cleaned the edges of the cream leather thoroughly though and behind the panels. All door cards will get a good deep clean once done.

Love it.

Get the parts, come on over and I'll help you with it.
Driving from here to JHB to look for parts and help assembling each time would be cost prohibitive!
Wish I could though

Ok, I am still finding oil in the coolant expansion bottle. I am hoping it's just the residual oil in the system coming through rather than an issue. I have researched this to death and it all points to the heat exchanger by the oil filter.

This has been changed with BMW parts so I know that is all good. I will remove the radiator and associated parts and drain the system this weekend and then refill and drive the car to work and back next week to make 100% sure that it is just oil that is still in the system from before. The engine is not losing any oil at this stage.

Anyone have any ideas where or what else I can check?

It's takes a lot of flushing to get rid of all that oil. It took me weeks. Everyday I stuck the hose pipe down the expansion tank for weeks until all the oil was gone

Thanks Waseem. It's doing my head in, I thought I did a proper job flushing, but there must have been pockets of oil in there which I couldn't get out. Will have to flush and fill this weekend a few times. I have some radiator flush I want to through in there too.

Oh, here is an updated pic of the interior:

Had the car washed inside and out yesterday and then threw a layer of wax on. Looks so good, considering she still needs a proper polish:

Be careful with that blue drain plug. I am not sure if it's available separately. That's why I opted for using the hose pipe in the expansion tank and have the oil overflow out. It's also quite messy even though I had it trickle out. I heard once that the blue plug is not available so gotta buy new radiator. I was also told to use some Degreaser in the cooling system but I wasn't too sure about the reaction that would happen.
