Will the engineering shop cut the 30/45/60deg angles on the valves and seats again as in the originals. Because I see the current valves doesn't have it. Lots of potential power loss in the absence of those angles.

The engineering shop the head is currently at does not undertake budget builds unlike the one to which the head was previously taken to.

So the valves arrived today.

I also collected the S50b32 tensioner from BMW and will post pics of it next to the S38 tensioner.

So I started cleaning the block today in preparation for re assembly.

And the comparison between the stock s38 chain tensioner and the replacement (upgrade) s50b32 tensioner

Im short a couple of things before the assembly can start. Im waiting on the head gasket set and then head bolts and some other bits and bobs. Slowly getting there

The head is now at home awaiting installation. The head gasket is in its way up from cape town and once I have the head bolts the re assembly will commence...

This is both very exciting and very frightening at the same time.

Ive been flying over the weekend. Ordered the head bolts from BMW and they only arriving tomorrow anyways so I shall start soon

I need to clear my plate a bit first though. Have too many other projects holding me up. Im expecting the M5 to be on the road around about my birthday. That being the 1st of feb.
