I bought the 530i. 1995 with 244000km and full books. Needs some minor body work, the old lady was parking by feeling.

Needs a good clean and some seat work. Some cables and motors are not lekker - seems to be a common problem with older e34.

Will post pictures once she looks half decent.

Bring it on the breakfast run. Half your issues may end up being fixed by the time you leave :) :)
Congrats :thumb:

These are the vrot keys I have for the car

IMG_16241600x1200.jpg

Key with the holes is for the car and the other key is supposed to be the spare, but the blade is different. Went to drivesure on Sat and got a new key shell cut. Before I went to them, the remote worked. Now in the new shell, it does not. I have to get it coded who can do it besides BMW in Cape Town. It is the infra red remote that was only used for a few years.

Replaced the bonnet struts too, as the bonnet would not stay up. BMW wanted many hundreds of rands, but I got Febi from Diesel Electric for R150 each.

IMG_16391600x1200.jpg

Removed the rear console as I need to have it redone as the covering is starting to come off at the back perhaps due to people putting their feet on it.

Gearlever cover also needs work.

IMG_16331600x1200.jpg

You will be surprised at the amount of dirt you find when you start to take the interior apart.

IMG_16311600x1200.jpg

I found a huge amount of battery acid too

IMG_16351600x1200.jpg

And once cleaned up, there is a nice little hole in the bottom right. The grey is the underbody sealant! When she goes for the body work, thay will have to weld a plate in.

The battery has seen better days. I will buy a new one. Anyone know the size? I have got a smaller battery in there at the moment to move the car around before it goes to the panelbeater.

Perhaps one of the mods can move this thread to the 5 series section?

Car looks great!

The battery is a 658c be prepared to pay about R1400 new. I have a spare one here for you if you need not 100% sure of the condition but it works. Buy yourself some Tectyl (wax spray) and spray the battery tray after cleaning with bicarb.

Which Diesel Electric? I need both bonnet and boot struts for mine.

Thanks. Diesel Electric in Parow, but I got the last 2. Perhaps they can order more.

Rick who can code the keys?

I can code keys for you.

I would spray with tectyl to prevent any further corrosion and then just lay a sheet of neoprene rubber under the battery, but if you after a full restore, weld plate. I would be a little nervous welding there with so much wiring and carpet in that area.

You would be amazed what the laser cutting guys can do.

I had a battery tray for the bird made locally up here for like 350 in stainless.

I just took out the old rusted tray, 2 days later I had a new one.

Neat looking car Roundal. Congrats.

I have a spare centre console for you. Not 100%, but slightly better than your current one.

I also have a grey driverside doorcard if you need one.

I need bonnet and boot struts as well, thanks for the contact details.

Groupbuy Rick?

Jandre, I emailed Rick the Febi part numbers. Just a tip.....try to use the BMW clips, as the Febi clips do not look the same quality as the OEM ones. I used the old clips with the new struts.
