i ave an e30 with a mark3 supra 7mgte motor T66 turbo built 5 years ago and still running strong

Do you use it as a drag car or weekend toy?

initially built it as a drag car but didnt do much drag racing with it because it would wheelspin semis right thru third gear and do shit times i recorded 13.1 @195kph at 1.2 bar boost so i now enjoy the car on the road to expensive to do the drag suspension

why would anybody want to do this to a bmw, leave the jap scrap for the jap cars

i agree, but the thing about the jap engines is they cheap and they really easy to modify because some guy in japan has already done it...

Has anyone done a 2jzte in an E30 before?
Iv seen one with a RB25 but not the 2jz yet

yes theres plenty over the ocean. racing snake is also building a 1jz into an E30 plus some tweaks. looking at around 300kw in that maklik. 2jz is a bit more expensive but still not alot.

theres crazy vids on youtube with an E36 2jz hyabussa killer. wheelspin in every gear, backfires that you can hear from a mile away.

me personally will do the 1UZ conversion in a heartbeat as soon as I can (saving up now). cheap and loads of potential. its all about the benjamins (or cheetah's in SA?lol) yes id love to shove a V10 M5 lump or the S62 in my box but its just too much money and for what? call me a cynic but my dreams and reality are two different things for now. at the end of the day its just a car and its fun. ok im ranting, as you were:rollsmile:

Strange, but personally I would not go a route just because it is simple, cheap and lots of people have done it, would rather go for the BMW engine option just because most wouldn't even consider it.

I agree with you totally, its like degrading the motorsport heritage that BMW has earned over the years and so well deserved. Its like putting a heart of a hyena into a lion!!!:biglol:

It might be pricy but id rather invest in a ///M motor and get it turbo/super charged. Dont get me wrong, those 2JZ motors are powerful and are better suited on the Jap cars not on a BMW....c'mon now.:bravo:

Just over a month ago i was at the Zwartkop raceway for the Supadrift series, there was a red E36 with the black top 2JZ motor, the car was pathatic to say the least, there was a blue E36 318is Motorsport almost standard only had a modified diff and large bootwing and it performed much better, any1 here on this forum that has attended that event will confirm my observation.

Check out this video on youtube and this is only a 328i turbo charged.

Cheers

BMW heritage means nothing to me.

Unless BMW puts clothes on my back, food in my stomach and money into my bank account it is just a car brand to me like any other.

At the end of the day it is only the bottom line that matters, ask any F1 team and they will agree, I doubt any F1 or other racing team cares about heritage, they will do whatever it (legally) takes to win a race.

Life and ones well being is far too precious over any material object.... and thats a fact in my opinion...

This discussion and many other discussions on this forum is for the purpose of sharing our opinated views for our love of cars and how fast they go, this website specifically aimed for the BMWFanatics, so why hate on the BMW heritage???

FYI : Michael Schmacher was a proud Ferrari driver and has driven for Ferrari most of the time, im sure he will have a different view about what u saying about heritage having nothing to do with winning, its not a direct contribution to winning but definately a mental contribution!!!!

I'm not hating on the heritage, but why hate on others who wish to fit other motors in a car with the view that it goes against BMW heritage?

We as consumers of BMW products make BMW shareholders money so I think we as consumers are entitlted to consume the product as we see fit, irrespective of heritage. Indeed I put forward to you that Toyota also has a proud racing heritage as well as any other brand for that matter.
