If I had the money to waste, i would buy and M and put a tazz motor in it...just to piss people off.
We all think BMW's are awsome cars, but that doesn't mean that all the other brands are shit. Give respect when it is due.
If you can spend R50k to get a car that can kill 90% of the cars out there, then why the hell not. BMW's are not perfect, so lets stop pretending its a sacrilege to carry out an engine swop on a BMW. :nonono:

its your money and car,so do what you like with them,i just think it is pointless.

put it this way you lose to worked up toyota tazz, then you keep quite and call bmw shit, but if you win then toyota gets all the praise?
bullshit
if you want a toyota motor then build up a whole complete toyota and make them proud, and no i dont think bmw is the alpha and omega,in fact i dont think that about anything man made.

look at the world that was given to us,thats the alpha and omega

I'm sure if we had more RWD cars in SA that could be modified people would be creating a variety of hybrids.

Unfortunately the only really cheap and easily available RWD chassis we have is the BMW.

If we have supras and skylines available in SA I doubt many people would be taking those motors and fitting them into a BMW.

So we have cheap bodies and have the option of either fitting an expensive BMW motor or a cheap Toyota motor. Given that most people who want to go fast have only performance goals in mind within a given budget, the only practical and logical step is to combine the cheap BMW body with a cheap Toyota motor.

That is essentially the bottom line, I'm not going to base my decision on what BMW's heritage is or the fact that Schumacher supposedly valued Ferrari's racing heritage or the fact that BMW's heritage is better than that of Toyota. Why would that matter to my performance goals and more importantly, to my budget? infact it will only increase my budget.

audi use different rear subframes for the 4wd and Fwd

also when converting a 4wd chassis to Rwd you need to brace it because it now has more force travelling through the chassis...

merc shells are heavy...

BMW make very good Rwd chassis and this is why i have one...

v8 lexus 6k 240 hp just add cams and it up to 300hp 150 kg
1jz 6500 260 hp 219kg
2jz 9000 260 hp 219 kg
3,4 vvti Lexus v8 18000 (isf motor) 300 hp
compare that to a 330 motor 30000
so bang for buck toyota motors will win
plus most of these toy motors has less than 100 000km on them
for a driver car the Lexus v8 is the best option as its light on juice
for max speed the supra motors is better
i could have fitted any of the toyota motors for less than i spend on rebuilding my m20 2,8 stroker bmw motor
