Seems you are having a lot of fun with the car! Thats the goal.

Consumption also in the common range for inline 6s convertibles.

Enjoy

How did you find it handled , having done this with the other cars of the fleet?
I drove it like an old man :)
Given all the work done on the car, didn't want to push it hard, yet.
I also have that propshaft noise that I want checked out. Will be attended to soon.

Car feels more planted, given the low ride height than the other cars I have taken there (have not taken my ex Boxster and ex Cayman there, so can't compare).

Must have still been fun, with top down and being so low to the ground compared to the X3 and Rob Burgundy. Mariah carey cd playing in the background 😁

I am considering a back box delete, straight pipe or other exhaust mods. The temptation is strong, but in two minds whether it will be a headache or an ear ache :)

Speak to the guys at TMSS or similar shops that can advice you on the best option so you don't have drone and its not too loud for your liking.

Full system (including headers) for the win.. Single best mod I ever did on the E46, of which there have been MANY in the last decade I have owned the car.

My mods plans have been put on hold.

Workshop picked up the same issue I get under light acceleration (slight clunk noise from rear).
Propshaft is to be assessed at specialist.
Will see how it goes...

The car looks great in person. I only got there just before the 2nd session started so I didn’t get a chance to see it in action. Awesome to see that you’re exploring its capabilities!

Update

Propshaft is serviced. All good.

I am in two minds about tweaking the exhaust. The car is super stock standard, so I am concerned that tinkering with anything will knock me when it comes time to sell (looking at selling within next 1-2 years).

I guess if I was keeping her longer, then it would be worth doing the exhaust mod.

Just keep your stock exhaust. You know you want to mod it. Dont fight the urge :D

Maybe just do the golf t mod if your car has the valves in the exhaust. A bit louder bit still stock. When it comes to time to sell you just reconnect the pipe.

Oil leak.....

So, after parking the car on an incline, I noticed a small bit of oil on the ground.

Took the car to the workshop. They checked what they could, tightened some bolts on the sump, cleaned up the area and gave me some options (sump gasket and rear main seal). I decided to monitor it for the coming week, given that it does not seem like a major issue. If it worsens, then will need to go down the diagnosis rabbit hole.

The rear main seal was not replaced as part of the work performed on the car recently, since there were no leaks evident at that time from that area. I will monitor this and see how it goes. I understand that it is a big job to replace that seal.

Anyway, I guess this experience makes me an official, classic BMW owner now :)

In other news, I am considering sports exhaust options with a specialist. Will update when I decide.

After 200km of hard driving (traffic and open road) since the last update, there are no issues. Oil is still full (no visible leaks).
Will monitor and see how it goes.
Granted, it may be a very small leak that pools up over an extended time. But, with these older cars can't really complain.

In other news, a full catback exhaust is on the cards from Strada Performance. Update to follow after fitment and testing:)

Depending on how much difference that exhaust makes to the overall ownership satisfaction experience, further mods (more cosmetic and audio/tech, rather than performance) may be in the pipeline if I intend to keep her longer.

Fuel consumption is sitting at a pretty respectable 13 litres/100km, with no pussy footing.
