How do you know it is stock?

Very Sexy car by the way  and good power but I don't think a stock 3.0 will make that sort of Power unless it was a very happy dyno.

thanks boet...

well the figures that other mates made on different dynos were pretty consistent.. i know the car is stock coz im the second owner , car has FSH with BMW and was owned by a 68 year old white guy in johanesburg and whatever he has ever spent on this car from brand new lol he has documented and recipted in a file..

pretty upfront and honest guy and has assured me this car had no mods at all..

cud it jus be 1 of those spookily insane ones that came of the line abit diff from the others? car is realllllly very strong..

what should it have made on the dyno any idea?

oh all i done to the car was put a K&N flat bed filter :) lol

When I was in high school my dad bought my mom an E34 525. Car was awesome. Then my dad had a run with his business partner in his 500 SEL Audi from JHB to Bloem and the beemer ran away from the Audi. The business partner was upset so took the audi to SAC and told them to do whatever it takes to make it faster than a 525. Next month had a run to Kroonstad and they were more evenly match however the beemer still pulled a few lengths on the Audi. His partner phoned SAC in the car at 230km/h and said to them, THIS F&#KING 525 IS STILL PULLING AWAY FROM ME. SAC said no way in hell and asked my dad to take my moms 525 in to see what has been done, my dad refused and said he bought the car with like 40 KMS on the clock, brand new out the box and is 100% stock, the way it came from it's mother in Germany, eventually convinced my dad to take it in and they fouNd that the car had double vanos, which the car didnt come out with. Called BMW SA and they had no answers, BMW SA then called BMW Germany and they said the last 5 E34 525's off the line were made with double vanos cos they ran out of single vanos motors and seeing that it was the last of the E34's before the facelift came out they were not going to go specially make 5 motors nor stop production of their last 5 units.

So maybe you have something like that but in M3 form.

a quick query... i own a 1995 e36 M3 3.0 .. car is stock stock stock to the core.. i recently dyno'd it at the sibaya car expo and made 193KW.. now i been told that this power made on the wheels especially on rear drive cars differ to around 15-20%(more) on the fly wheel. can someone confirm this? Car is very very strong, shockingly 4 a stock M.

Lovely M3 specimen in that colour.....one way to check your figures is to dyno again at one of the other "accepted" dyno's in Durban to check if you get similar figures.....try Autotrix

the 3.0l stock made 210kw on the fly, so that is very strong on the wheels.

Keep it stock, it is a clean example that is getting more rare

Yepp…. you probably have what my buddy calls a lucky packet performance BMW.

Not necessarily different parts, but just a little extra special.

He said the same thing about my 335i; he’s a BMW technician and said that it’s very strong for a stock car.

But then again he did replace every single engine component he could before MP expired.

193kws at the Coast seems in range of a healthy M but I guess yours is about in the 220flykw range. Did you dyno on pump fuel? Here's a dyno of my 3.2 4Dr M, in 2004 with Unichip and Rgm exhaust.
