Hahaha, mate its the initials of all my immediate family members and my wife. My dad has a mail domain registered on the name for like 10 years so just decided to go with that. I had to add the T for the wife though.

Side note though guys what is something like this worth with all big items done? I have spare TA's stored as well by the way. Would the value drop heavily when I hit 100 000km?

*Update*

Since i last posted in this thread Ive done a few things:
  • Vanos system refresh (Solenoids)
  • Front bumper has been touched up, scraped due to ride height
  • New disks and pads front
  • Steering rack has been fixed and is perfect

The car is on 102 000km and is in excellent nick. Did a 1400km road trip to CPT with it in December and was flawless. Used a little oil and a lot of fuel but car was smooth and a great drive down.

Still to be done:

  • PDC sensor
  • Front rim little buckled

In addition have acquired a few spares just to store for when something happens:

  • Throttle Actuators
  • Vanos solenoid (prices crazy)

Very happy with car, will be taking for a oil service in February 2017. I do oil every 4 months on this machine.

nice to see this beast being pampered. What was the issue and cost to sort out the steering rack?

Brilliant. If I may ask, what did the TAs and the VANOS solenoids set you back?

The rack was leaking and reservoir was running dry in one day. It was around 12k for rack repair and it's perfect. My warranty paid for 10k of it. My power steering pump was fine so didn't have to buy that!!!

The TAs I bought second hand for like 3k each. The solenoids are next level, they like 20k each but Tunetech strips them and builds them back up.

I don't know what it costs they did it for free as my car was the first they tried it on.

Worked perfectly now going on 4 months.

In 2007 BMW brought out new SMG software, make sure your software has been updated, saves the box, clutch and diff. You can just call BMW with your VIN and they can tell you if it has been done or not. This was done as a recall and should be free of charge. Makes the shifts much smoother and you don't get that jerk if you slightly hesitate on a pull away.

All campaigns on the car were done, as checked by John from Leo Haese so I'm sure the software was done. Thanks

One of the better cars to do that trip in for sure, we did the same in my 530d..

Did you stay over, or was it a straight push for you?

Straight push for myself and my friend. Didn't have time to stay over he was going to catch a 4pm flight in JHB. We left at 01:00 go there at 14:00. Took the N12

Small update*

Have attended to the soft SMG paddles they have been sorted with new springs and are perfect now. Car is running well.

It barely gets taken out and sites on a CTEK battery tender. This due to me buying a Bmw M6 (E63)

The future of this car still to be determined!!!!
