Since i last posted in this thread Ive done a few things:
- Vanos system refresh (Solenoids)
- Front bumper has been touched up, scraped due to ride height
- New disks and pads front
- Steering rack has been fixed and is perfect
The car is on 102 000km and is in excellent nick. Did a 1400km road trip to CPT with it in December and was flawless. Used a little oil and a lot of fuel but car was smooth and a great drive down.
Still to be done:
- PDC sensor
- Front rim little buckled
In addition have acquired a few spares just to store for when something happens:
- Throttle Actuators
- Vanos solenoid (prices crazy)
Very happy with car, will be taking for a oil service in February 2017. I do oil every 4 months on this machine.

Brilliant. If I may ask, what did the TAs and the VANOS solenoids set you back?
Bazza said:In 2007 BMW brought out new SMG software, make sure your software has been updated, saves the box, clutch and diff. You can just call BMW with your VIN and they can tell you if it has been done or not. This was done as a recall and should be free of charge. Makes the shifts much smoother and you don't get that jerk if you slightly hesitate on a pull away.

Did you stay over, or was it a straight push for you?
