Hz, what are you planning to do with the sunroof panel? Doing a similar build ......I'm planning to re-skin the entire roof. Would you be interested in fibreglass doors? Cheers

Hz, doors will have a frame for the polycarb to be bonded to. If you are patient I will fabricate you a fibreglass or carbon fibre panel for your sunroof.

Do not weld the old panel in ....the roof will warp and will require buckets of body filler to rectify. Rather make up some brackets which can be bolted/riveted to the return lip of the roof. Then use Sikaflex to seal the gap....remember to have the paraffin on hand to clean the excess Sikaflex off. Cheers

I've only just bought my coupe....1st event on Sunday, going to use it bog standard. The doors will take some time, will do the numbers once I've made my set. Later

Looks good already!

Two things:

Do Not weld in the roof, will Not work. I Took in my E30 the original roof and glued it in with Sikaflex , was perfect!

What Mods will y do on the engine? You are aware of the oil problems of the 3.0 litre m engine?

By the way....i am also thinking about building an m3e36 for trackdays....

Thanks for tip on roof

Leaving the engine alone .

Only running the gotech pro X box.
And TNT exhaust and pipe and cone air filter .

If and when I start chasing power , I have a different trick up my sleeve .... which won't involve the m3 motor .

Search in the net. You have to modify the oil sump...otherwise you ggonna kill the engine if you use slicks....oil pump is sucking air and y need an oil restrictor too...Check the Motorsport catalouge of Group N car please

Yes I was told the same about the sump (and many other things when I built my car) and after asking around (not on the net) no one i asked has done this not even the guys with high power turbo cars......one of them has been running for 6 years and his motor has never been opened - was also told its a Golf thing.
I dont know....??
Please let me know where i can get a copy of the Motorsport catalouge of Group N cars?

Anyway Stig46t......are you not done yet? :)

@ Brucet:
I know for sure about this problem, it only appears on high g forces in curves with the 3 ltr M3 E36 engine, the 3,2 litre does not have that problem (oilsump and other parts different...)

I will have a look if I can get the group N catalogue...problem might be to get it in english...
