I need to send my 435 in. Since new the cars brakes have been squeaking bad! Car is on + - 3400km.

Gets quite embarrassing to be honest lol. Just need to take the car in and check it out

My brakes also squeak. It's very embarrassing. Fancy new car with squeaking brakes. Pull up next to a dilapidated car at the robots only to find its my brakes squeaking and not his. I was told to brake hard as this sometimes gets rids of the squeak. The squeaking has improved but still not completely disappeared.

It's terrible...I don't have the time to book car in for a full day every time my brakes start squeaking!

When this happens, i do a couple speed runs 0-100 to 0 again, slamming on the brakes out of pure fury....

Dont listen to me though, it never works! ;)

Just an observation i have made as well. The hot weather we've had may also play its part. I've notice that the brakes tend to squeak a bit more in hot conditions.

Its a common disease on the E70 X5 as well.

When the car was under MP, I would just complain until they changed the disks and pads which happened frequently. I found that the squealing became worse as the pads/disks wore down.

Now I use copperslip on the backs of the pads and clean the calipers regularly which keeps the problem under control. Its just a pain the ass because those 19" wheels on the X5 are damn heavy to remove...

Braking hard with my car or should i say a little harder than your usual light robot to robot braking and I have no squeaks at all. Its just when i gently touch the brake does it start crying lol

Maybe my car is trying to tell me something

Seems to be a common disease with BMWs... I had my rears basically skimmed a tiny bit by BMW, this took away the terrible squeak from pulling away, but have developed the worst squeak on braking... if you're under MP just send it in, I would always recommend Sandton Auto, 1st dealership that has actually done something to fix my car.

My car has squeaky brakes too. Fitted Meyle discs with Febi Bilstein pads. A short while afterwards a small piece broke off of the right front pad and caused a chip in the disc. Since then, no amount of copper compound will take away the squeak caused by the chip...

Mine does it off and on as well. I've found that when I wash the car spraying between the calipers and disks for a few moments tends to clear it up for a day or two.

The other thing I've tried is following the usual "new brake bedding procedure" getting the car up to different speeds and braking firmly (pre-ABS kick in) without coming to a complete stop. I repeat this several times over the course of a day or two and my brakes seem to remain silent for around 2 weeks.

Mine also Squeaks, but I just put new Discs and Pads on. Hoping it will shut up when it beds in more, as there is still a surface on the disc that the pads didn't touch as yet.

But also driving me insane :argh:
