Hello members

Has anyone tried using Champion spark plugs on their cars?
I have just had the spark plugs replaced on my 2016 320i F30 at S.A. Auto-Tech.

Removed Champion (RERX4ZWYPB),
replaced with OEM (12 12 0 040 551) which is stamped NGK (94201 SILZKGR8B8S).
Mileage: 92,000km

Car service history shows plugs changed around 30,000km.
Concerns me that OEM plugs were not fitted within service plan....

I did notice an occasional blip during idle, very very intermittent though.
What are your thoughts/experiences using Champion/Bosch spark plugs?

Hi Kamz, did you have a service plan on the car or was it on OEM motorplan?

Service plans allow any other RMI area to fit whatever they deem correct e.g. Hyundai Service and Motorplan is backed by Liquid Capital, they do not fit OEM wipers on replacement but Champion wiper blades.

If on OEM Motorplan with BMW, then it is disturbing that the dealership did not do that. The NGK Iridium are great plugs.

Hey Ash

I did request the service history from BMW.
All services were done at BMW under motor-plan, by previous owner.
(plugs were changed at BMW 30,000km interval).

Seems like something dodge was going on...
I think I will mail the dealership...

Seems like a waste of time tbh.

MP has expired, bmw will say you can not prove that the plugs that came out the car was indeed fitted by them.

also since you are not original owner (from 30k kms) they wont even need to explain anything to you.

Becomes a he said she said situation.

Would suggest speaking to the previous owner, and move on (if there are no issues with the car) (y)

Most of the time OEM will use NGK/Champion plugs - they will be the correct plugs for the car spec.
The Oem will just rebox and add a part number.
Nothing wrong with the Champion or NGK.

See below from my OEM Stock.
