In the mould of the Pistonheads thread, I thought it would be interesting to post some of the more interesting BMW finds you come across in the classifieds. My nominations:

E34 M5 for 35K

E39 540i Auto for 40k.

At that price, the M5 is probably more than a little ropey, but maybe worth a look. The 540i looks solid.

540 looks like a scam at that price. (plus the England part) also the car in the pic is not a 2002 model.

Absolutely not a 2002 model.... more like 1997/98 maybe, but looking ok.

Just been test driving used cars for a week. DAMN! the rubbish used car sellers try feed us....shoe!

1) It's interesting that many people "think" their car is a few years newer that the model actually is. " I bought it in 2002, so it's a 2002 model"

2) My definition of an imaculate car is "looks and works like the day it left the factory" In Cape Town most sellers definition of imaculate is " It has four wheels that turn, and the bumpers are still on it"

3) If I hear one more "old lady" bullshit story I am going to bitch slap the sayer!

4) The car I finally bought was the first one out of about 18 that didn't "lie" to me, the dealer seller said he honestly knew nothing about it, and didn't claim to either. Nobody had tried to dress it up, and nothing was hidden, even the normal wear and tear dirt inside. Got it home looked in the service book to discover it had been dealer serviced it's whole life, never missed a service ever, and had good $ spent on it. With the dirt gone cleaned up beautifully, and I got an awesome deal.

80k is a bit steep. NEVER buy the 'lady owner' story. Yes, that beauty is owned by a beauty, but with 275k on the clock, she's been round the block...twice. Nice find non the less.

80K for that mileage.... Nah, nice color though!

What's with the lady owner is good thing? I have a sister that eats BMW's for breakfast, wouldnt trust anything she's driven twice.

E34 525i Touring?

Looks a bit ropey, and has the usual sunroof issue, but would be an awesome project. Do an auto-manual swap,, clean up interior and exterior, and you're sorted.
