Lovely Cars

I have always wondered if a C250 Cdi with a remap would be as enjoyable and fast as a remapped 320D. They are very appealing, especially with in Amg spec, and in Coupe form. The stock power figures are awesome.

Correct.
There was a point in time when both C200 and C180 had the 1.8. There was an update, when the C180 got the 1.6, while the C200 kept the 1.8. Also, the C250 petrol shared the same 1.8 motor.

Seeing that the brand new C200 has a 1.5 motor, seems that Merc likes keeping things smaller on its petrol models.

I will let you know one day when I get it done 🤣
I can tell you now.. the coupe only looks good. Had my eye on the coupe only and after test driving many and just one sedan, I was sold on the sedan. The coupe just has an empty feeling from the driver seat backward, rattles a ton and definitely doesn’t feel like a Merc.. just feels like there isn’t enough weight to hold it down if you get what I mean.

Welcome back @Demontec, nice rides brother! What a package on that W204!!

@FILV
I have done both, I have had the 320d LCi Stage 2 hardware and software. Then I got the C250 CDi, it ran 14.5 1/4mile with just Downpipe and Software...nothing else, not even diesel boost. The power is very linear but its gets going nicely, i drove mine from CPT when I bought it and in stock form, I very much enjoyed it. the most comfortable daily car I have ever had!

I ran it against a modded 320d LCi also (Stage 2, DP + xHP etc) and the Merc is ahead by a car atleast. Ran it against many other cars too and qit went well but the body is a bit heavier than the E90 as well and can feel it on the launch. The E90 launches MUHC better.

The Merc is a 2.1 Twin-turbo diesel hence the 150kw/500nm on the fly out the factory, once remapped...it punches hard but to dyno it is not easy. Sherwin tried dynoing mine and it kept changing up a gear but we saw figures of 610wnm in between that and around 170wkw however not on a complete run so still have no idea of what it did at all.

When you do the remap, it is a whole new car all together!

Thanks Bro!, sent you a PM when I got the car..not sure if you got it.
Hit me up..would love to know what you had on yours as I don't want to take chances on mods not necessary to gain more punch.
I am sure you've done that exercise already😉

That is exactly the info i have always wanted! Thanks @AshG108
Ok so it is worth the money, especialy after a downpipe and map. Stock 330d power with the consumption of a 2 litre sounds awesome to me.

Good info regarding the Coupe.
Your sedan is such a nice spec. Its the first Edition C i have seen with Xenons. for some reason all the ones i have seen have Halogens, kinds of kills the premium look and feel.

Thanks bro, yes. Took me a year and a bit to find this specific spec & colour.
I had a very specific list of extras which were not negotiable and it was tough, either no xenons, no sunroof, no AMG kit, smaller motor/petrol or no PDC's.. The colour with spec was another struggle on its own. I hate buying brand new but almost threw in the towel and went this route, I am just glad I held out a little longer & the fact that I don't necessarily like the look of the W205.

Hi Fanatics,

So I've made a few changes, decided to get rid of the F20 and make a few changes on the W204.

Added a C63 look front bumper and grill, replaced the headlight lenses (Old ones were sand blasted beyond restoration) and added a rear boot spoiler.

Some of these may not be to everyone's liking however I feel it looks a lot more aggressive upfront.

Still to come:
Painting calipers (Suggestions welcome on the colour)
Decat/downpipe (still uncertain of this as I am not particularly crazy about a noisy car or smoking under heavy acceleration)
ECU and TCU software (to get rid of the unresponsiveness of the throttle and gain a few extra KW)

Criticism is welcome ;)

Looks gorgeous, W204 in OB is my dream...add in a 6.3amg engine am done of my dreams are complete.

Looks wicked...do the DP and remap, you wont regret it...don't remove the backbox...keep it...slight audible whistle but overall the car gets a decent grunt and still sounds very decent for even a daily too.

Thanks bro! this is me one more step closer to getting into a 63..lol
It will look like one soon and the lack of power will eventually push me into a 63 :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the advice on the DP. There's this Co. in Midrand who advertises free downpipes for your CATS..will look into that perhaps and get the software done at a more reputable shop

Looking sweet bro. I also need to do my car's calipers. Want to go gloss black.
The thought of all the effort trying to get my trolley jack to slide in underneath the car makes me turn around go back inside the house and crack open a beer. Think I will outsource that job.

+1 on outsourcing, I will never DIY this again.. Have jack stands however the jack wasn't lifting the car high enough to get the stands under so.. one corner at a time made it a tedious task!

Hi guys,

Small update on the Benz.

The wear on my steering wheel has bothered me since buying the car.

Took a stab at a DIY using a steering wheel cover from Shein 🙄 and a quick Youtube video on how to stitch it..
I went with blue stitching and suede to match those on the seats & door pads of the Edition C.

Didn't turn out too bad considering I've never stitched anything before.

Not the greatest fit however now that I have an idea of how to do this, I will grab a custom cover cut to fit this steering.

Let me know what you guys think of it 👍
