I feel a free flow for you might be too loud unless then put proper resonators.. rather stick with your decat..

I would rather stick to BMW xenons but they sometimes harder to find..

G&C assured me that i would be able to tell them just how loud i want the exhaust and they can fabricate it for me along those specifications. Thats all good but its one thing to make it loud or softer but another to get a nice tone.

I also know that the Xenon Angel Eyes and Halogen Angel Eyes differ in size. Think my outer rings are bigger. Don't think it would be a problem switching over to Xenons would it?

if you dont want it too loud go for duel 54mm pipe with 3 boxes im sure G&C can get it right...

mine is a tad loud with duel 57mm but the sound is awesome and its not excessively loud :) i went 57mm because i will need the extra flow when i fit the S/C

you will not need bigger than 54mm for 2.8l so i would go for that

Hehe, u know me too well Z. Performance > Cosmetics. If u asked me 2 months ago i would've said exhaust no contest. But i like it when people don't just enjoy my car when they are in it but also visually. Looks like at this stage it is:
1. Exhaust
2. Strut brace
3. Xenons

The only reason Xenons are 3rd is because they are so hard to find second hand.

@moranor. Youve been looking at forced induction. What needs to be replaced if you are only going to run a turbo boost of like 0.5 bar. Nothing too hectic just bit more power.

the problem with boosting 0.5bar with a turbo is its hard to find the right size least with a 2.5l... if you want to only boost 0.5 a super charger is definitely the way to go and they way easier to tune also...

0.5 is safe without opening the engine, but depending on how you drive you will need a better clutch...

Isn't the fogs H4? To be honest i have been thinking bout importing a set of fogs.

Okay moranor, i have no clue about these things but how would the supercharger be better at 0.5 bar than the turbo. Would it be because of lag, or output? Im really uneducated about forced induction. All i know is Turbo + Chip = VROOOOOMMM!!!!!!

Would T4 be too big?

So my decision has actually been made for me. Yesterday in the mail i got another "greeting card" from the traffic department for R600!!! Im gonna go for the least popular item, the laser detector. The latest one, the Cobra 9960 is retailing at R2450 but i can get one for R1600. Thoughts?

Just a friendly question. Why dont you rather drive safely and normally on the roads and come to killarney's monthly track days to push your car harder?

No offence, just wondering.

i have heard from a number of sources that detectors no longer work you need a jammer... but that brings other problems

Non taken bud. I am a spirited driver. Haven't been to a track day so guess its time. Thats why i make use of this site. I was ready to order but now im thinking ill just wait and see if i can work on my problem.

lol @ andrew. Good point!

@moranor I will never buy a jammer. I don't want to escape the ends of justice. I just want some help spotting them when im looking the other way. Or when they are hiding...

by the time you hear the beep you already caught... my dad always used you have detectors but he has given up on them now because the lasers are too fast now... the only way now is to jam, slow down and then hope you dont get pulled over for jamming...

the only thing the detector will help with is you can learn where they trap...

Dont think you need to follow all of them.. just the CPT one :) as the JHB would be useless to you..

Also follow @andrewbuch :)

Xenons you might take a while to find.. but once you have & get them fitted you will be smiling every time you drive your car at night..

look for facelift ones as I am sure they easier to get & then you would have to get them "fitted" into your housing..

Laser detectors only detect the laser after it was fired to measure your speed and the signal was returned. Too late.
The only defense against laser is jammers or laser echo's. I have had a Lidatek laser echo on my previous 328i with the gallion(transponder) mounted below the number plate behind mesh and that thing warned me and blocked them on numerous occasions between Cape Town and Joburg.
I have seen them hiding in shade cloth hides and in wheelie dust bins with a hole cut in.
I only had a transponder in front so it would have been useless in Joburg where they trap from behind.
